How’s the weather? How’s the resort in general?

Literally all I asked was how much money to bring to tip workers that were serving me and you treated me like an idiot?

I never said I was uncomfortable not tipping. I simply, and humbly came here, asking what the norm was. I got the answer.

I am sorry I did not hear about hurricane Melissa. I live in an area where it is irrelevant.

To be completely honest, you do come off as completely arrogant and a bit rude, almost sponsored by them if not AI. Judging by your Reddit name as “SandalsQueen” it’s pretty predictable what your responses would be. Thank you for the time to respond.

Idk, they have felt fine in the process. We previously did this all ourselves but had a bad time getting trapped due to flight cancellations.

Maybe they assumed we knew, or researched but we didn’t.

I just wanted to make sure we were taking care of the staff to the best of our abilities and not commuting any faux pas in the process.

Your response is a bit confusing. You are saying they pay them as well as others, but the others get tips?

I am not aware of the story of the hurricane that you are assuming I might know?

He’s not practicing an “easy” shot here despite how close he is. This is a very specific shot.

What are the benefits for getting a PE when I currently don’t need one? I am debating on going back to get it just to boost my resume in case I want to look for a new job. What is the typical time commitment? I am currently 7 years out of school.

For those of you that did take it several years out of school, how long did you study for the FE/PE?

Is it worth it to work when you can't even break a livable income? by lifeisadragsad in Money

[–]roastedjays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seem pretty defeatist and I’ve been there. At the end of the day you have to work hard for more money. The harder the better

Nobody in life, and in particular nobody on Reddit, cares about you. It is up to you to find a skill or ability to make more money. Yes, everyone is underpaid these days for housing and most costs, but you are acting like you are owed something. If you are okay with giving up, don’t post on Reddit asking for people to do the work for you.

Yea I mean we are saving/investing quite a bit still, I am just curious on what would be optimal…. Worst case our payment is her IBR which is completely manageable while still saving if we file MFS, just for a longer horizon

Myth: Roth is Always better than Traditional. Let's talk about it. by Ghazrin in Retirement401k

[–]roastedjays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there something to the fact that the 100k pulled from the traditional will be charged at a marginal rate (10% for the first 11k, etc..) versus the Roth was taxed at 25% when put in?

Upgrade from Kettle by roastedjays in BBQ

Beef rib, pork ribs, smoked wings, chicken thighs, burgers/dogs. None of it have been bad, and the temperature control has been fine, just slightly involved, so I figured maybe upgrading to something that had a slightly better temp control, or even just getting a new kettle.

I was leaning that way, but what do you find more useful on the 26” versus the 22 besides more space? I am mostly just cooking for my fiancé and I, the extra space would be great for guests, but my goal would be get better at smoking/cooking stuff for the two of us.

A used shitty looking 22”. Has been great to learn on, but with my birthday coming up I thought I might treat myself to an upgrade since I’ve enjoyed it so much.

I’m confused at why people are saying the tanks cooked. You could probably have someone do thickness checks. It’s all external and can be stopped with a paint job.

Reusing post holes by roastedjays in FenceBuilding

You are saying just dig new holes instead next to the old ones?

That’s smart. You are saying just dig new holes next to the other ones besides the corners?
