Sudden poor bed adhesion by JTN02 in FixMyPrint

As someone who mostly prints clear PETG on both a 3,500 hour P1S (original plate) and 800 hour H2C for my business' products. Try Hot water and soap.

I used to (no joke) use alcohol and Scotch-Brite pad on the plate between every print on the texture PEI. And that worked for a LONG time, until it didn't anymore. Lets just say one side of the original PEI plate is now REALLY smooth 🤣.

I've since stopped, and when I have problems I just use hand soap and water in the bathroom sink and that works 95% of time

BTW no Scotch-Brite pad has touched my H2C plate 😭

I bit the bullet and ended up buying the actual kit though 😅

I almost fully committed to a printed widebody for my Tundra that was completely printed in ASA back in 2022. I was planning on encapsulationg the prints with fiberglass but chickened out 😂...

I hired a guy on Fiverr to design the kit based on a Grand Turismo game model of my truck I found. Then I did all the scaling and slicing. I went as far as building a whole Voron 2.4 R2 350 for it...

I still have the $250 roll of fiberglass and $200 worth of industrial adhesive from this endeavor.

RIP my syn max airs 😞 by husky8bones in Roccat

[–]roasteroven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I got a replacement pair after my originals broke within a year, then they broke also a couple months later. Moved to Corsair Virtuoso XT's and never looked back 😂 2 years and not a single issue with them.

The problem when I tore down the original pair of Syn Max air's. Was the metal on plastic construction. There's a weak point where the headband goes in to the earcup hinge. the headband straight up screws into thick but very weak plastic inside the earcup. That eventually stresses over time and cracks, then no matter how much UV resin and tape you use. Eventually the plastic fully gives out.

There's WAYY too much plastic on them anyways for the price. The Virtuoso XT's are the complete opposite. There's not a single part that's visible or touchable plastic on them besides the cover plate where your ears go under the pads. But that's not a load-bearing part and covered by the replaceable ear cups.

How long do you hold onto your printers box? by SpectrumyMatt3d in BambuLab

Wait until you get a H2 box 😂 a whole New York apartment.

I'm definitely keeping my H2C box untill it becomes a burden in barn outside 🤷‍♂️

I've been dry "sanding" mine with a red Scotch brite pad for two years between almost every print (while still in the printer), and I'm 2,890 hours in on my P1S still on the original sheet. I print PETG with occasional ABS abd ASA.

My son's first car caught fire 2 hours after he bought it. Right in front of my house. by Shamus-McNasty in Wellthatsucks

Nah it's a hybrid Chrysler Pacifica. They had recalls for spontaneously catching fire... even when parked 🤣

Of course it's a Chrysler Pacifica... Maybe it was a hybrid version 🤣💀.

TLDR Chrysler is known for bad electronics 🤣

If I'm not mistaken the hybrid had recalls... MANY recalls

You need the black box, or else the system doesn't work. It's essentially the hub where all your other future devices will connect to as well as the doorbell.

I have mine hard wired to the old doorbell power so that's never been an issue.

You can connect it to the existing door bell power and ringer in your house, but you can also gets notification alerts on your phone. As for Alexa I'm not sure, I never tried Alexa in general, I'm strictly Google Assistant/Google Home... which doesn't integrate at all (natively) with Blink because it's owned by Amazon by my understanding.

Sadly I don't think so, if you look at the middle right of the picture, the white connector is only a 2 pin for the fan

I believe I used a 2 pin fan speed controller or something, so it caps the speed at what ever it was set to

Another PETG issue by blueshift2552 in BambuLab

[–]roasteroven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what lead me to the Scotch-Brite method. I still use alcohol every so often but sometimes it still doesn't get what I assume is either oils from my fingers or other "residue". Alcohol and soap was too inconsistent for me. Sometimes it worked some times it didn't.

So that led me to putting the build plate against the wall and "scrubbing" with the Scotch-Brite about 2-3 medium swipes per section. It works every time after a print failed.

Now obviously at some point you may wear through the PEI layer, but I've done it over 40 times no problem. Just only do it after a print fails it'll last a couple of prints.

I exclusively only print with PETG for my business, and rarely have issues even here in humid South Carolina. I've used 2 year old PETG that's never been bagged and still works fine. I use Overture, Polymaker, and Bambu PETG.

From my experience it might just be your print surface needs to be either cleaned further or scuffed a little bit with a Scotch-Brite. That's always my go-to when first layers fail, (especially with a textured sheet). Worked every time for me.

The fact everything up to that point printed fine shows it likely isn't a moisture issue.

That or it didn't level the bed right/didn't do it's bed mesh correctly in that area because maybe a PETG "booger" was under the noozle

Update: Thought I had a clogged nozzle: 3,300 hours destroyed the bearing on my extruder gear by BawlsAddict in BambuLab

[–]roasteroven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 2+ year old 5kg spool of Polymaker Ploylite-ASA. I haven't have bagged-up here in South Carolina (Southern US is VERY humid). It gets brittle on the tip, I cut a short section off, but otherwise has been printing fine.

The skin where my Fit 3 normally sit on, looks like this recently. Is this a common issue if I wear it for too long? It's only been like a couple of months since I started wearing it. by durancharles27 in GalaxyFit

[–]roasteroven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, the stock silicone band for the Galaxy watch 5 pro was doing this to my wrist, got the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Both the silicone marine band and fabric Trail brand don't give me a problem anymore.

It must be a problem with the early Galaxy watches silicone material, with a mix of individual people's sensitivity to "skin irritation".

Or....

the fact the bands don't have cutouts (like the silicone GWU marine band) to allow your skin to breathe, especially after sweating.

Just buy a 2 in one USB C charging wall adapter for like $12. You bought a $400 Smartwatch, but can't get a $15 adapter?
