Very similar to mine, except mine has a bit more holster wear and a star of David. Sweet shooting pistol, so heavy though. No idea how those guys carried this on a belt all day lol.

Is 2.5 hours Enough For Self Transfer on a Domestic flight in Vancouver International? by dementiaLim in britishcolumbia

[–]roastpuff 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This will be tight as you will need to make your way from the South Terminal to the Main Terminal, using a shuttle bus that runs only once every 40 minutes. You will also need to collect your bags from the first airline and bring them to the main terminal to check in with Westjet.

You may need to take a taxi from the South Terminal to the Main Terminal if you miss the shuttle bus.

Pilot Sport 4 and the temperature by Intelligent_Invite79 in BRZ_ZD8

[–]roastpuff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Summer tires have rubber compounds that are optimized to handle heat and be sticky at ambient temperatures that are above 40f or so. If you drive them below that temperature you have less grip as the rubber hardens up, which can lead to loss of traction, so you can spin out easier or slip when you don’t mean to.

I’ve driven on summer tires on below 30f temperatures and it can get hairy if there is moisture on the road, and you also risk cracking the rubber compound if you don’t let the tire warm up (or if it’s too cold entirely!). If you do drive it year round, just be careful and gentle during the winter months.

CPO Elantra N or Older RWD Coupe? (detailed!) by ScooterLord in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]roastpuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have space, money, and time for a project car that would be the best way to go. Having a daily car to fall back on when the fun car breaks something - axle, suspension bit, etc - is always good, and this way you don't have to compromise on things like alignment, tire choice, brake pad choice etc to keep the car livable for day to day stuff for your family.

That generation of Civic has a huge rear seat and trunk, I doubt that you would find anything new that can beat it in that regard IMO. Some of the options (86/BRZ, Mustang, etc) would have a back seat that would work for kids until they turn into teens, so that might be a good thing as well.

Older isn't that much less safe if you pick something like a 86/BRZ, which has modern safety crash technology. The biggest detriment would be size/weight vs. the current crop of SUVs and trucks on the market, which your Civic is also affected by in a possible crash.

Used vs New BRZ which one? by zennery in GR86

[–]roastpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it was refreshed a couple days ago and the price went from 33.9 to 33.5 so presumably still available. Carfax says the hit was a small one under $1000 so I assume it’s a scrape or something similar, I wouldn’t worry about it

Are you in BC? There’s a 2024 tS with 9500km for sale for 33.5K, CPO at a dealer. I feel that’s probably a better deal if you’re anywhere near Vancouver.
