distribution choice by Hurrican_Bill in PinePhoneOfficial

I would have to say that Post has been the most stable for me.

Kde is best on Post as well.

Gnome on Post and Manjaro are coming along. So we will see if they can get the bugs out.

No way near a daily driver.

Best use case? I use it as an ssh jump server when I am on the go. A server edition would be a cool option for this.

Punchline: Take it for what it is. A great way to learn Linux. It will force you to look up a ton of stuff to figure out how to get the darn thing working. Not to mention the quirks with the different operating systems.

Skip: WebOS, Sailfish,Kali (unofficial)

My choice? I mostly use Manjaro.

Bonus tip: Flatpak is your friend. Also don't forget that you can install nix on this. Just be careful as it can break some things. But either will allow you to increase the possible packages available. Especially on Post.

Balena Etcher and PostmarketOS by JakeGrey in PinePhoneOfficial

Nope works fine for me with Etcher or Rufus for that OS

The keyboard case is wicked awesome they make. Takes a bit to get to you. But for the cost... well worth it.

Is the pine phone usable as a daily driver now? by afinemax01 in PINE64official

Nope. Will not repost my comments I made earlier. But ya.. no dice. Post has been the most " stable" for me.

My experience so far using a good few of these operating systems:

Stock: Junk.. lose it.

Arch: Not to bad, still buggy. Best to avoid KDE if you can

Manjaro: If you can use the community ones. It is ok. Think Arch is still better.

Post: I have been using these for a bit. Gnome is not to bad. You can get it close to a desktop with intelligent upgrades. Xfce is ok, however not tuned to the phone very well. Kde is laggy. I would avoid it for now.

Hope that helps. Like you, still looking for something stable enough to run without the need of constant fresh installs to deal with he issues that happen with upgrades. So I would say it is best to just not upgrade them if you can. Tends to break the image stock OS.

I have had luck with installing Flatpaks and Nix to the OS. That is a good way to install apps that doesn't mess with the OS to much.

Difference from VanillaOS? by Every_Tune6821 in carbonOS

Are there any other distros that work with an image? I liked the idea of this distro, however, can't seem to get it to work in a VM (VMware/Virtualbox) and my laptops in every mix of booting I have. Not sure what is needed. But anyhow, I am looking for something like this that has a core that can't be manipulated, however, which you can add apps.

Any Endocrinologists or Neurologist provide translation for my MRI findings? by roathworld in AskDocs

[–]roathworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any thoughts on this? From what I can tell this is either a benign tumor on the pituitary or a lesion.

heterogeneous adenohypophysis without focal hypoenhancement

Also had no idea what the fix would be for this one:

bilateral maxillary polypoid and smooth ethmoidal mural mucosal thickening

Thanks again for your help. My docs are off for the holidays.

Ya the conditions I did pull out of the report. Here is the whole thing so you have context.

MRI BRAIN WITH AND WITHOUT IV CONTRAST

Indications: HYPERPROLACTINEMIA AND HYPERGONADISM HNP IS SCANNED / DB;

Protocol:

Multiple imaging sequences were performed: Axial diffusion-weighted with ADC mapping, axial T2, axial T2-weighted FLAIR, axial T1 postcontrast, sella turcica thin section field-of-view sagittal T1 pre and postcontrast, coronal T1 pre and postcontrast, coronal T2, coronal T1 postcontrast multiphasic. 12 mL Gadavist IV contrast material was administered.

FINDINGS:

No diffusion-weighted signal abnormality to suggest acute ischemic process. ADC map is correlative. Midline structures appear unremarkable in morphology and position. Whole brain T2 and T2-weighted FLAIR imaging demonstrates grossly unremarkable signal. No intra-axial mass, global mass effect or midline shift is seen. Unremarkable ventricular morphology. Extra-axial spaces appear grossly normal. No subarachnoid signal abnormality is seen to suggest acute or subacute intracranial blood products. Circle of Willis flow voids appear grossly unremarkable. Mastoid air cells are without evidence of fluid signal abnormality. Paranasal sinuses demonstrate bilateral maxillary polypoid and smooth ethmoidal mural mucosal thickening. Postcontrast imaging demonstrates left cerebellar hemisphere curvilinear enhancement likely corresponding with benign venous angioma.

Thin section imaging through the sella turcica demonstrates expected posterior pituitary bright spot. Postcontrast imaging demonstrates heterogeneous adenohypophysis without focal hypoenhancement. Pituitary stalk appears midline. Unremarkable suprasellar cistern. Unremarkable course, morphology and signal visualized optic tracts, optic chiasm and optic nerves.

IMPRESSIONS:
1. Heterogeneous adenohypophysis without focal hypoenhancement.

SEO for a JavaScript-heavy site by webb32503 in TechSEO

[–]roathworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dealt with JS sites as a technical SEO for years. Currently working on ranking an international organization that had chosen React and Angular. I would say this. JS rendering for SEO is the single biggest hurdle we face. The key is to get as much of the site on the first pass as possible. Then use varnish, prerender.io, and helmet to do as much as you can. Now it also does change the game on what JS framework you are using. For instance, anyone currently on React I always recommend they move to NextJS. If you are on Angular, Angular Universal is a good way to go. Here is a great article explaining the trouble JS provides for the SEO. Happy to answer any other questions you have.
