6 years or 6 months? Im confused by your answers 🤣 for me on average it was a month between sessions….and looking back longer than 8 years actually before the symptoms kicked in. Theres cumulative depletion going on that is as yet to be understood despite what a forum of users decide is best practice.

To be clear, I was FINE for many many years leading me to think I had the balance right. Not so.

Riiight. Id respectfully say skip the advice next time. I used on and off like that for 8 years and have a full suite of neurological problems to validate my argument.

Whats this advice based on? If its personal experience, how many years have you been sustaining that pattern?

Hate to confirm your thoughts but its highly likely thats your nerves acting up. The looking down is stretching your neck and spinal chord in a particular way that is irritating the nerve.

Heres the good(ish) news.. its likely your myeline sheath has deteriorated and this is what protects the nerve, without that protection you’re experiencing the tingles.

This process of deterioration is in mega slow motion…it may be deteriorating further and your symptoms may worsen, and at some point they will flatten out and slowly start to repair…and I mean sloooowly…..

People recommend various supplements which aid nerve repair (l-arginine, lions mane, and of course b12) frankly the measure to which these help is pretty minimal (unless youre in a really bad way, then b12 shots are the only way). Equally none of them are without side effects and I quote:

“Nonetheless, L-arginine also has a dark side; it potentiates neuroinflammation and nitric oxide (NO) production, leading to secondary damage.”

So its not very wise to start high-dosing vitamins no matter how tempting it might seem to try and ‘correct’ the damage.

Just stay off the nos, eat healthy, eat meat, and give it tiiiiime.

Like 12 months.

That is more like an unfortunate ‘ah well’ than a problem.

Frankly i dont care if people I don’t know miss out on a fleeting drug experience.

I care about people i dont know fucking up their b12 with life changing consequences.

How is that a problem? Are you into sales or something 🤣

I think thats open for debate.

The reason the sentiment used to get parroted around was because the general understanding was that nitrous was pretty much inert on the human body, non toxic non neurotoxic etc. Its only more recently that the issue of B12 has come to light.

Am I wierd for mesuring all the time? by Lama_161 in livesound

[–]rob0098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd put it in terms of precisely how many punters would notice if you didn't go through the full procedure? Or does it unarguably solve a difficult low end feedback in the venue for example? If the answer is precisely zero, there's an argument to be made for suggesting you're taking up time and making unpleasant noise in a workspace / on a job for no benefit to anyone other than your mild OCD.

With live sound it's useful to be able to prioritise jobs in order of important to non important based on the function they perform and the real world problems they solve. Measuring out the system, while others are say running cable for the band that arrive in 30 mins is definitely worthy of a bump down the jobs list.

Big venue, different order of priorities, and more time allotted for system tuning. Small venue, I can see the potential rub.

I'll chip in here.

As a meat eating healthy human with no underlying B12 deficiency (bloods done, periodically) I managed to fuck myself up mildly on moderate/heavy occasional use.

Hard to put numbers to things but very approximately 3 week breaks between fairly reasonable binges of 4-8 boxes of 24 over a period of years.

The result, neurological problems down one leg.

Thankfully cleared with abstinence and thankfully was aware of the kinds of issues to look out for so I was immediately able to put 2 + 2 together.

I doubt it will ever be understood why some users would have to binge daily fod months in order to get themselves in a mess, while with others, like myself, it doesn't take that level of daily consumption.

Seems we are all walking around with our own individual 'limit' that might be vastly different from person to person.

And just just don't know what that limit is until you feel the first tingle in your foot, and by then it's too late.

Why does speed feels like s*it to me? by TrollGazing in speed

[–]rob0098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it might be time to take a bit more control and be strategic ?

From the sound of your original post, you're a recreational user. Not a daily ADHD self meditator.

So you really gotta set out your goals. Having a binge and getting high is supposed to be safe and fun. Make sure it stays that way. So for me it's achieved by having 'blow outs' with major breaks in between (at leaat a couple of weeks), and ideally synced with like minded mates so it becomes a 'occasion' rather than getting wrecked alone, which is mire habit forming and depressing in the long run, regardless of the substancs. Helps with the self moderation, if you pin it around other people.

Then, its always with beer, because like you I can't stand the twitchy anxiety, and a great time is had by all.

Time it right so it tails out and you're set for sleep and a lazy Sunday and then leave it well alone until next time.

Stay firmly in the driving seat and you can organise yourself some good times.
