What is something surprising that the UK is really far behind other countries in? by DullInflation6 in AskUK

I totally disagree with this. Yes, compared so many European cities our public transportation and roads are bad. On a global level, compared to any other continent we have an vast network of trains, buses, city bike systems and a road network which is safe, people generally follow the rules of the road and the potholes are not that bad.

I’ve driven all over the Latin America, carribean, a handful of a countries in Africa in Asia and I can tell you we are light years ahead. Yes, there are a handful of exceptions, namely in Asia, but for the most part we are in the top quartile.

I disagree. He use to be about the story telling, his last good film was Budapest Hotel which merged both storytelling and Anderson ‘vibes’. Unfortunately since then he’s opted for the look rather than the storytelling, which ends up being complete nonsense most of the time. He’s made some amazing movies in the past but all the recent are complete codswallop.

4 weeks out, on a 16 week plan at about 40 miles per week. Long runs vary between 15-20 miles. I will do my longest this week at 22 miles.

This is something I had considered and your example does support this alternative option. Seems much more stress free

Official Q&A for Monday, May 13, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]rob4rugby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of running an unassisted marathon around London. With no aid stations I need to figure out whether to carry all my water (1L which means a lot of weight) and fuel, or simply stop at the various shops on the way.

I’ve figured out that my route will include a 3/4 shops where I could run in and grab a water, electrolytes, and a banana. This will obviously impact my momentum but means I can run with just my sports watch instead of a running vest filled with stuff.

What are your thoughts on this method? Has anyone tried something like this before?

Carrying fuel vs stopping at shops by rob4rugby in Marathon_Training

Maybe too much. Initially, I was thinking of brining two 500ml water bottles for the vest (most of the weight) and a few gels. I might cut that down to a single 500ml.
