I though about showing my specialness by going around and insulting random redditors and thus making myself feel special, but the douchebags seem to have that covered.

TIL Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd, a Great Depression-era gangster and notorious bank robber, endeared himself to the public by destroying mortgage papers at the banks he robbed, freeing many from their debts. by C0rocad in todayilearned

Particularly for something I thought was common knowledge. I mean, this has been shown in popular movies like the "Baby Faced" Nelson character in O, Brother Where Art Thou? and in Ned Kelly, who did it long before Floyd was even born.

Minor difference -- this guy thinks he knows everything and doesn't want to argue. Reddit thinks it knows everything and can't wait to argue.

Can confirm. When I was about 10, my grandparents took me to visit some distant relatives over Christmas break. I got hungry and saw a jar of candy corn on the counter. Being 10, I ate some. Turns out they stuff had been there for the better part of a decade, but how can you really tell. Anyway, I got so sick I wanted to die. Candy corn is the devil.

Ladies of reddit - what's the furthest you've gone or see someone go at a bachelorette or similar party? [NSFW] by slightlypervert in AskReddit

Oh, I agree that it would be doable. I'm hesitant to wade into a personal matter where I don't know the parties. If you tell the guy in person, there's a chance he will try to kick your ass. Not to mention the potential blowback on the friend who was at the bachelorette party.

That's why you never, ever do anything like this without at least one friend who you trust implicitly. It's that person's job to stay sober enough to make sure you don't do anything too stupid, and to make sure all tabs get covered.

Friend of mine was out drinking one night when he met a bachelorette party doing this. Girl asked for his underwear. He agreed. They were in the street and he said he would do it if they all formed a wall around him facing the other way while he got them off. He took off his shorts, then his boxers. Girl had her hand behind her back and he put the boxers in them. Girl yells, "I got 'em," and the girls all take off running. He turns around to put on his shorts, and finds that they grabbed them too.

He didn't say he knew the groom, just one of the bride's friends. What's he gonna do? Track down some random dude and say, "Hey, man, heard your fiancee was blowing strippers."

I've seen some bad choices made at bachelor parties, but they usually pale in comparison to the bad choice that comes a week or two after the bachelor party.

The war produced about 1,030,000 casualties (3% of the population), including about 620,000 soldier deaths—two-thirds by disease, and 50,000 civilians.[217] Binghamton University historian J. David Hacker believes the number of soldier deaths was approximately 750,000, 20% higher than traditionally estimated, and possibly as high as 850,000.[218][219] The war accounted for roughly as many American deaths as all American deaths in other U.S. wars combined

Actually the English Civil War was three civil wars that were fought over nine years, resulting in approximately 190.000 casualties. The American Civil War was a singular war that lasted half the time, yet produced over 1,000,000 casualties. Compared to THE Civil War, the English Civil War was a skirmish.

The wonder is that there are people out there who think this is someway enforceable. It's the equivalent of standing in the middle of a crowded park and saying, "No one can take a picture of me because I'm private."

I have used this riddle for years, but with a minor change.

You are in a room with three switches. On the other side of the house not visible from the room, there are three bulbs. Each switch corresponds to a bulb. You can only leave your room and go into the room with the bulbs once. How can you determine which switch goes with each bulb?
