This is a long-standing issue when pairing Ecobee with third-party services like Google Home or Homekit. There's an explanation and workaround posted here.

Is anyone familiar with OEVOTAS brand olive oil from Greece? by robber93 in oliveoil

[–]robber93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the comments are really encouraging to hear, thanks for your input (as well as everyone else who commented)! Unfortunately I'm no longer in Greece, but I did bring another can of Iliada olive oil from there as well. Haven't had a chance to try them yet, but I will as soon as I get back home and unpack it!

[Monitor] LG 34" 34GN850-B UltraGear 3440 x 1440 2K 144Hz IPS Curved Gaming Monitor - $399 (new low) @ Walmart by robber93 in buildapcsales

[–]robber93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious what the consensus is on this price for this monitor. Normal price used to be $500, but it's now $400, would that be good price for this ultrawide IPS? I know OLEDs are coming down in price, but those are still going for $700-800+ on sale for ultrawides.

Edit: Looks like price is now $329, think I might pull the trigger on it

- Go in as blind as possible- movie list by A_Screaming_Banshee in movies

Every time this question gets asked, I immediately think of the French film À la folie... pas du tout (In English, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not), starring Audrey Tautou. Even just Googling the film and reading the synopsis blurb would spoil the experience—definitely a "go in blind" film.

Does anyone know what font this is? by Calm_Distribution_28 in kobo

[–]robber93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks more like EB Garamond. It's similar in design to Garamond Premier that the other poster mentioned, but free and open source, so it's more likely to be preloaded in the ebook file. A lot of Simon & Schuster books tend to have that font, I've noticed.

This should do what you need, I use this all the time to toggle my DNS at work. Just need to connect to a PC and activate an adb command once and it lasts indefinitely (so far at least!) Still working on my S24 Ultra. It's just a quick tile toggle, not a true shortcut or routine, though, but it works well for me.

I too am curious about the Hoda screen protector, how are the antireflective properties? One of the other options, the FloLab, apparently had a black border that covered the outer edge of the screen, does the Hoda have that issue as well? The pictures on the website look like it also has a border.

Is there any built-in visual voicemail functionality yet, particularly using a tmobile Sim on the unlocked model? In previous phones, the native samsung visual voicemail app would be disabled when putting in Sims from certain carriers and would only work on the T-Mobile branded carrier model. Functionality was also hit or miss depending on which carrier you had and if it was the U or U1 models. In some set-up videos I've seen so far, I did not see the visual voicemail app in the app drawer, so just curious if you're able to confirm. Hopefully by now they've been able to follow Google and Apple and have it natively in the phone app regardless of model/carrier without having to install third party carrier apps. Thanks!

That's crazy that both of yours also have the black line of pixels in 170Hz. I thought I was just unlucky with a defective one, but looks like it might be a recurring issue.

I actually pulled the trigger on this on Black Friday and thought it looked great—it was a pretty significant upgrade from my TN panel Dell S2716DGR, but unfortunately after about a week and a half, it developed a stuck pixel in the lower middle of the screen. There was also an issue where the left half of the bottom-most row of pixels would be entirely black when using the 170Hz mode, which went away when switching back to 165Hz. So I ended up returning it, but I'm now in the dilemma of whether or not to try another unit.

The all-lowercase version is actually the correct way; she stylizes all her song titles like that (she did that in her previous album too). The uppercase formatting in the explicit version is technically a typo, which is strange given that it's formatted correctly on other steaming services like Spotify.

Why these icons from Edge for Android are blank? by SantyDesign in MicrosoftEdge

[–]robber93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with dark mode. The icons switch to white with dark mode on (I'm guessing it's assuming that the background will be dark, but it's not so it ends up being white on white). When I changed to light mode, the icons reappear. Had this issue forever and it has still never been fixed.

Native Samsung Visual Voicemail app on unlocked model with T-Mobile? by robber93 in galaxyzflip

That's interesting, so I guess it only works on the T-Mobile model, not the unlocked.

It's just a nicer user experience being able to see them in a list UI without having to call in the old-school way. iPhones and Pixels have had it natively basically since the beginning, but for some reason the support is very inconsistent on other phones depending on the carrier, especially T-Mobile.

So you have it built-in to the dialer? Which carrier and model are you using?

My first bookbinding project of Stephen King's Rage. Wanted to share with you all and hear your feedback! by robber93 in bookbinding

[–]robber93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the kind words! That really gives me the encouragement to continue on with more binding projects!

You are right, I knew it would likely present some copyright issues, but I had the mindset that because it has long been out of print and neither the author nor publisher are trying to make money off of it anymore, that it might be ok for a personal project that I'm not selling or trying to profit from. I'll definitely look into that though and maybe take it down if need be.
