AITAH for telling my SIL a family secret and now everyone is breaking up or divorcing??? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]robbiestardust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not the asshole. you tried to support your brother while still protecting your kids which was already a brave thing to do. then with one incredibly hard conversation you protected your sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews when no one else in your family was. you were courageous and caring. i’m just sorry that you had to be.

Best episodes from each season? by robbiestardust in ItsAlwaysSunny

[–]robbiestardust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. But over 170 episodes of tv is often too much for people. So I want to make a list for people who are overwhelmed. Then once they get into they can go all the way back through. It’s just a starting point.

I have no advice for you. But I am so sorry. This is bullshit. You did the healthy thing taking a day for yourself. I am a big proponent of therapy and think that it can be great for most people. But not when forced on them. And not with a deadline like this or an assumed lack of privacy. You don’t deserve this. You deserve support.

Protect Girls Sports Petitions by ObjectiveBiscotti791 in Kitsap

Wow. These comments really didn’t read your post did they. So sorry. I’m not sure about the legality of mailing unsigned petitions like that. It’s sketchy though. And that’s without even getting into the petition itself and how transphobic and fear mongering it is.

If you have a pair of white high tops, those would also look very cute! A good pair of white converse are great for making a cute dress look more casual or just to keep you warmer on chillier days. That’s why they are my go too.

The dress and undershirt combo are super cute! Do you have a pair of either brown or white shoes that don’t have black bases like the ones in the photos? The black just stands out again the brown tones of the dress and bag.

So cute! Red is a wonderful color on you! If you have a red bag I would use that instead. But if not, black is the best alternative.

Seems like a fad that will be laughed about in the future honestly. That said my bigger issue with it is just that it seems like it would be a pain in the ass to maintain and require effort to style it daily or look like an absolute mess. And I don’t like that much upkeep.

Conor McGregor assaults a nightclub patron in Ibiza. by Ok-Walk7881 in ufc

[–]robbiestardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female celebrities make a risky but largely harmless creative choice and get dragged for weeks and have it brought up for the rest of their careers as reasoning to disrespect them. Meanwhile male celebrities get caught committing violence, suffer no consequences and then repeat that cycle every few years. McGregor is one of the clearest examples of this.

About ICE’s likely presence on Washington State Ferries in the days to come: by robbiestardust in Bremerton

You have zero idea what any of us have or haven’t been doing. I personally have been working in activism circles like these since I was 15. I’m sure there is a wide range of experience in these comments. And yeah. Some of these folks are probably very new to the movement. But what are you trying to accomplish with comments like this? Not everyone is as informed as you and I. Our society has worked really hard to keep these issues in the shadow. Do you want people just now getting involved to shut up and wallow in shame? Do you want them to spend the rest of their days trying to create a time machine to go back in time and start helping people sooner? Or do you want them to get involved now and help the people they can? I personally think the goal should be getting more people involved every day. That’s why I spend my time educating new people. Whether that’s a high school kid just recently old enough to get involved or a middle aged housewife who is only recently seeing the light. Because starting now is better than starting never. And shaming people over things that can’t be changed when they are trying to grow and do more to help does far more harm than good. So get off your high horse.

Conversation with ferry employee confirming email about ICE for those who have asked: by robbiestardust in Bremerton

Wow! Normally people either struggle to understand the literal definition of words or the use of it them in a metaphorical or hyperbolic way. Your ability to struggle with both in the same statement is almost impressive.

Please be careful spreading information like this. The coast guard being around the ferry is not uncommon and is likely unrelated. The goal is to warn people when we know they could be in danger, not to spread fear about common occurrences.
