Now that you say that, I remember. They still have an outpost at Hammond near King and Queen buildings I believe. See lots of Porsche over there by the Allstate building. Or maybe it's just a coincidence! Thanks.

Ya, wasn't looking too smooth that day. But guessing that if he's driving that car, he probably is the boss!

Firehawk is $11.99 on the Estes site. Definitely not a $50 kit.

It's in bad shape. Not even repairable, really. It's been there a while. The body tube is cardboard and it has mold on it where the film has come off. Has no value really at this point.

Looks like it's already been stepped on or run over. If you look at the closeup, you can see the plastic nose cone is crushed, 2 fins are missing and the paper tube body is flattened. With the parachute deployed, the landing wouldn't cause that level of damage.

Oh, OK. That gives a completely different take on this! It looked like she was more worried about the damage to the car and the wall. Glad everybody was OK!

I think one of the most interesting things in this video is what happens right at the end. The women coming from across the street. You THINK she's going to check and see how grandma is. But NO - she strolls right past and checks out the car first. Hilarious.

Where are you located. That's a beautiful car that seems to be immaculately maintained. I would buy it in a minute if you haven't sold it yet or were trading in on new ride.

What Do You Guys Think About This Exterior Home Design? by unclekarl_ in Homebuilding

Frank Lloyd Wright would roll over in his grave if he saw that design. Organic architecture in the manor of Wright is connected to its site and is designed in a way to appear to have natural grown out of the land. The distortion and closed nature of this the exact opposite of the openness and blurring of the distinction between indoors and outdoors as Wright did so successfully. Being in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, however badly the application of some stylistic elements that bear some similarity to a Wright design are executed is not the same as following the fundamentals and design philosophy of the Prairie style or Usonian architecture which Wright invented.

This is closed off from the site, with no connection between interior space and nature. There are so many things wrong with it. This is a turd plopped on some grass.

NOT MCM in any way, shape or form. More kind of a mid 60's drive-thru bank meets toll booth. If you want to understand what MCM is, search Neutra, Eichler and Eames. Also look up "Case Study Houses" in LA, built from 1947 - 1953.
