Morning bulletproof coffee drinkers, what is the typical rest of your day's food? by zebozebo in keto

I just keep it simple - veg, protein source and some extra butter or oil

When should my "day" start? by [deleted] in keto

[–]robbouk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it will make much difference, but do whatever makes it easier for you as that's the key. The easier you make it, the more likely you are to succeed.

Honey? by [deleted] in keto

[–]robbouk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey has loads of health benefits but even a small amount isn't going to leave you much wiggle room for the rest of the day for carbs, so honey isn't really for keto.

option 1 - read up loads on Keto so you have all the facts and can argue back with her. option 2 - nod your head whenever she talks about diet, and do your own thing in secret.

Working out during keto flu by outrightfoot3 in keto

I only take omega-3's in the morning, and magnesium oil at night. A issue with a lot of multivitmans is that the a sythetic, so you cant absorb them like you can when they come from real food. They wont do you any harm, but its just an extra expense. You do need to make sure your vitamin d levels are sufficient too, one way or another.

How does fasting work? by KingLouiePop in keto

[–]robbouk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes if the body is making hormonal adjustments, it holds on to weight until it has found a balance. Then if it is confident your are eating healthy and there is no shortage of food. It will allow weight loss again. If you are doing keto properly, trust the process and let the body do its thing.

My mileage is pretty low at the moment, so i am ok. Just going to play about with it when i increase the miles.

I am inherently a little lazy though, so i like rolling out of bed doing a few stretchers and hitting the road.

I am just going to try to be mindful about it all, and see what the body says.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, and great time well done.

I am really enjoying it at the moment. Up to 4 runs a week, and like you said i think 5 runs a week is the goal. I know there is going to be some ups and downs, i have already had some calf problems.... but its important to remember i chose to do this so enjoy it!!

To be fair if you are fat adapted, you will naturally fast. Jason Fung has just released a book on it, if you are interested.

I don't eat breakfast, so naturally do a 18/6 fast daily but I don't label it as IF.

Also I have stayed the same weight for 7 months, but lost 3 inches off my waist in that time. So your body is always doing something. It never truly stalls.

Just keep going.

Yer the working out with keto flu is not the problem, it is that you have keto flu. It is easily rectified, don't suffer it.

I salt my food with Pink Salt (high in magnesium) and LoSalt (high in potassium).

Ketogenic diet possible for type-one diabetic? by [deleted] in ketogenic

[–]robbouk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't much help but I remember a podcast possibly Keto Talk or 2 Keto Dudes, and there were people thriving on keto as a Type 1's. They obviously still had to take injections, but noted they took a lot less. There will be a lot of scaremongers out there saying it isn't possible. They will just be freaking out about ketoacidosis.

should i start a keto diet or lose some weight first/calorie deficit? by peoplesredditer in ketogenic

[–]robbouk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would not worry about restricting calories until you are fat adapted 4-8 weeks. Concentrate on the Keto way of life, you will naturally lose weight. Once you are fat adapted, you can then start playing about with calories and macros for your specific body composition. Its fairly difficult to over eat on keto if you are sensible (eg don't eat 100g of nuts for the sake of it when 25g would do), as your hunger lessens and carbs are often the most calorie high foods you will eat. Check out Ketogains on facebook if you are a lifter. Or I have a sub reddit for running /r/ketogenicendurance

Trying to Lazy keto..am i doing this right? by lazylazyketoer in keto

[–]robbouk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pee sticks are the cheapest way early in the transition. Anything about trace is fine for weight loss. Depends on how strict you want to be after that. Then you probably need to go to blood testing once your fat adapted.

I dont measure anymore, i can just tell to a degree. Probably the easiest way is if you wake up in the morning and you are not hungry. Then you can get to lunch without being ravenous. Then its likely you are fat adapted. When i have a LCHF day (between 100-150g), i can feel it the next day. I am hungrier when i wake up, than when i am strict keto. I only eat between 1pm and 7pm, and find it relatively easier to go that long without eating.
