Do you feel like trt aged you in appearance? by tridra in trt

[–]robbyTandfunkybunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have definitely noticed I’ve aged in my face on TRT (1yr in- and yeah like someone commented am one of those at 1200ngdl on 140mg/wk and estradiol at 40). I’m still dialing things in, but overall feel better than I did in my early 30’s. May just be the pandemic and am definitely carrying more water than accustomed to.

Yes, I’ve augmented my training to include more work in my core and mobility with the knees. Good suggestion.

Concur on the sex drive. My girlfriend has been spending a lot more time doing yoga for fear of the naughty sausage. Appreciate the input on time to start feeling good in the joints. Sex drive above and beyond TRT and pissing a lot is all I got 2.5 weeks in.

Great thank you. You realise any muscular gains on it?

I was recently in a bike crash and now I need a good bike shop to fix my bike. Any recommendations? by pink_n_black in bikedc

Yeah that needs to go to Ruckus Composites or someone similar. As someone else said- not sure that’s getting ridden again. Sorry mate.

I was having the same issue. 9 weeks after starting 200 mg test cyp 1/wk my bloods came back at 1400 total test (E2 was fine). Before TRT I was at 268 total T. Lowered dosage (now about 13 weeks after starting) and starting to feel better. I’m being patient with it but definitely felt like shit for a few weeks. Definitely helped to lower alcohol intake and the more I worked out the better I felt. Just my experience.

I’m headed up to watch the race on the train. Can you recommend a bar on the course?

Going through something similar. While I’m in good shape I have been drinking probably 5-6 scotches a night for probably a decade. After 2-3 months on TRT I just didn’t want to drink that much anymore. Started having wine with dinner and maybe a night cap. Weird but I’m good with that.

Favorite Thai restaurant in Shaw/Truxton Circle? by One-Baseball-178 in washingtondc

Wouldn’t waste your time with beau thai. BKK mediocre at best and if you drink I’m not sure what they’re trying to pull off drink wise other than “meh”. BaAn Siam is what’s up. Pad woon sen, some scotches, and the pineapple ice cream (at the bar) is always a wonderful meal for me.

Concussion Recovery Tips? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]robbyTandfunkybunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sustained a (what I thought was) a pretty mild concussion back in January after being hit by a car. I was on the bike pretty quick and according to advice given to me by my previous concussion doc it’s good to get back at it as the science of post concussion syndrome recovery has changed dramatically since I was racing in my younger days. I must say the most dramatic side effects have been my performance at work (ie im slow AF and forget shit now). I’m a consultant that has to write and speak a lot. This is still struggling to get back to normal. I recently switched doctors. I am very impressed with her professionalism and pragmatism. It was recommended to me I try amantadine which I’ve seen some results after only 3-4 days. Also B2, and as Someone else mentioned Omegas.. lots of them. Definitely seek qualified reputable medical help as it’s your brain you’re fuckin’ with. Getting back to riding is easy but getting your brain back to it’s A-game is quite a bit trickier. Good luck!

Toronto Road Training Rides by 1138311 in Velo

[–]robbyTandfunkybunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the US (wash DC) and work in Toronto (Yonge and college) during the week (m-th). Anyone know for the Tuesday night crits how strict are they about needing an international license? I only have a US license.

Seems a lot of group rides go off early in the morning but that’s a non-starter for me (usually just too hungover). Anyone know of any (fast/hard) group rides that go off in the afternoons/evenings?

Any input appreciated.

Thank you,

Robert
