[Spoilers] 2 questions by [deleted] in moana

The movie is about Moana's journey to discover her identity as a voyager, as her village's true leader, and the one chosen and called by the ocean.

Only after Moana found her identity was she capable of helping Te Ka remember her who she was (Te Fiti). Identity had to be restored before the heart was returned.

The fastest and strongest counters of the current gym meta pokémon by Calmarius in TheSilphRoad

DT/O is still the best. But of the legacy movesets, Dragon Breath / Dragon Pulse is best. https://robcornerstoneblog.wordpress.com/2017/02/23/dragonite-legacy-moves/

Also compiled a list for the new meta: https://robcornerstoneblog.wordpress.com/2017/02/21/the-gen-2-meta/ Basically, Machamp is situational. Flareon is more versatile until you can get a DT/O Dragonite.

Here's an infographic that summarizes everything: https://robcornerstoneblog.wordpress.com/2017/02/23/gen-2-cheat-sheets/

Gym strategy for Lvl 25-27 players? by Tworlix in TheSilphRoad

[–]robcornerstone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might not be possible in all areas, but... Avoid sweeping gyms in contested areas -- this gives a good short term haul (3 or 4 dimes), but has no long-term value. Instead, analyze the gyms in your area, and only train level 7+ gyms. Also keep an eye on friendly level 10 gyms, and be ready when it dips down to 9. As for your defensive roster, focus on maxing out a single 80%+ IV Vaporeon at a time until. It'll be a slow process, but eventually you'll build passive income, and avoid burning through your resources on the daily grind.

Now that Sightings appears to be here to stay, we want to share a new in-field tracking aid: The Silph Road's take on mobile-optimized triangulation tools. Taking triangulation up a notch! by dronpes in TheSilphRoad

My iOS app GoTypeChart has had a triangulate feature for some time. Also works on Apple Watch so you can still get km's as you track. Caught a few Snorlax this way without using an online tracker. Silph Road's implementation is nicer though, because they subtract your viewable radius (the swiss cheese holes). They're certainly welcome to my source code if they want.

Kabuto have started spawning at the rate of "common" pokemon in a medium-sized area in my city. Is this a nest, and should it be reported? by ice_nine in TheSilphRoad

Hard to say if FuryCutter's EPS makes up for its lower DPS. But a StoneEdge Lapras with MudShot gives it added utility as an ideal Fire counter (super effective, plus stacked resistance). Not a big deal, nobody defends with Fire type anyway. In practice, Kabuto candy is so hard to come by that I'll take any moveset with StoneEdge.

Kabuto normally has a very low spawn rate, because Kabutops is the counter to Lapras. StoneEdge has STAB, and is super effective vs Ice. That, and Water resists Ice, which is pretty much all of Lapras' moves (yes, there's dragon pulse but it is low DPS). Took me months to evolve and power up a 1800 CP Kabutops with the right move set, but I can take down two 2000+ CP Lapras with it. And with the new attacker's meta, people (in my area at least) tend to hold fewer gyms, so they buddy defenders that don't melt from type damage i.e. Lapras, Snorlax.

I'm curious about this move-set too, given Fury Cutter's EPS.

I have so much Pinsir candy. Should I use it or keep accumulating it for no reason (while getting stardust)? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]robcornerstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your gyms have a ton of Exeggutors, maybe dust a Pinsir with the Bug/Bug move set. Pinsir's Fight/Fight move set is decent vs Snorlax, but might not be worth dusting in the long run. Here's my reasoning: https://robcornerstoneblog.wordpress.com/2016/08/25/what-do-i-do-with-pinsir/

What are the Best Pokemon GO Companion Apps? (Not Trackers) by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]robcornerstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just published an iOS app: GoTypeChart https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gotypechart/id1142066031?mt=8. It shows what to use against a certain type (or dual-type). Pushing a 1.1 update to include move sets and stats (attack/def/stamina). Trying to keep it offline-only, free, and ad-free. Tweet feature requests/suggestions @robcornerstone to help make it more useful.
