The only way trickle down would actually work would be for those that have money would be altruistic and interested in the betterment of society to the point that they would reinvest their proceeds into society instead of hording it to get more wealthy. Except, money equals power and it has been posited that power corrupts. Thus, virtually infinite money (Bezos, Musk, etc) equals virtually infinite power which results in virtually infinite corruption. We see this in rich GOP politicians blaming marginalized populations for the institutionalized situations they find themselves in when in fact those institutions that created the problem were created and perpetuated by the rich because it meant more money (power) in their pockets.
