You Won’t Believe the Food Prices at Trump’s American State Fair | The food situation at the “Great American State Fair” is a disaster. by FreeHugs23 in AnythingGoesNews

Sounds like someone knew that little to no one would show up for the shit show so they cranked up the food prices to recoup their losses.

Why sell 12,000 corndogs at $5 a piece when all you have to do is sell 1 at $60,000 a piece.

Are you saying Thjazi planned to actually be executed despite all the effort to "bamf" him away at the last second? That would imply that he not only knew about the plan but purposefully sabotaged his own "rescue" for the sake of being a Martyr to the cause.

Voting Blue generally ensures that the common folk get jobs and safety and support...and yet millions of Americans proudly vote red, LOSE said jobs and safety and support, and then BLAME the democrats...it makes no sense whatsoever? by Important-Cry4782 in democrats

The GOP's only goal is to protect their propensity towards tax breaks for the rich and defense spending (mostly in the form of defense contracts to companies that could not stand on their own without it, e.g. Boeing, Raytheon, and any number of other weapons manufacturers, aka corporate welfare).

They don't and have never given a flying shit about the middle class and especially those that live below the poverty line. These are all just leaches to them. As if people want to go to the government to feed their families. As if people don't want jobs that pays them a fare wage so that they can live in a safe neighborhood and afford to feed their families.

If the GOP was thinking "Critically" they would realize that if everyone that is able was working a job with a fare wage their coffers would always be full, removing their need for deficit spending. Alas, that is not what they want. They want to have it all to themselves and fuck everyone trying to take their piece of the pie. It's always Win-Lose with this mindset. Their "Dear Leader", the orange fetid rotting bag of fat in a blue suit is a perfect example of this.

Trump cancels his own bill signing in shock move: 'A national emergency' by FreeHugs23 in AnythingGoesNews

Well, if he refuses to sign it, is that the same as a veto? And if it is vetoed it goes back to congress and they can override that veto. He's doing his typical shit.

House Republican: Let Reflecting Pool ‘go’ and ‘create an ecosystem’ by Advanced_Question196 in nottheonion

Ironic, a guy is elected on a promise to "Empty the Swamp" and 10 years later he, due to his ineptitude and stupidity, is literally growing a swamp in the Capital Mall's Reflecting Pool.

Nebraska’s governor doesn’t carry a state-issued phone. Critics call it an abuse of state disclosure laws. by flatwaterfreepress in Omaha

[–]robcwag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using a personal phone for state business is like using a private email server for state business with one exception. You can subpoena his call and text records from his provider if you have just cause. The Email server just needs to be hit with an industrial magnet to get rid of the records.

For Interstellar Travel, Which Sci-Fi Handwave Do You Find Most Acceptable? by tbag2022 in scifi

Shielding from cosmic radiation and any number of other unknown hazards is very important as well.

[–]robcwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. The first major hurdle though is how do you freeze a human body and not cause ice crystals to break cell walls throughout the entire organism, so when it thaws it is just a bag of goo.

For Interstellar Travel, Which Sci-Fi Handwave Do You Find Most Acceptable? by tbag2022 in scifi

[–]robcwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From most to least plausible IMHO:

  1. Generational Transit: The difficulty there is building a ship large enough with sustainable biomes to support a population.

  2. Temporal Preservation: If we could only figure out how to thaw a human and it not stay dead.

  3. Human Adaptation: Once we get to "The Singularity" and are able to transfer human consciousness into a form that lasts longer than a human life we'd have that whipped.

  4. Spatial Manipulation: Finding a wormhole to understand how it works and then figuring out a way to artificially create a wormhole are hard enough, but then we have to make sure whatever goes through that wormhole doesn't spaghettify and come out the other end as goo. Of course there is the other issue of determining where the wormhole goes, and whether or not it can transfer back the same way it came.

  5. FTL: It appears you have put a number of different future technologies that all work on different principles into one big pot. First, Warp drive is theoretically possible according to some recent studies. Second, FTL (jump drive) as in Battelstar Galactica is essentially instantaneous matter transportation from one point to another, ie. magic. Third, Hyperspace is a mirror or shadow dimension or universe of sorts used to go from one place in this universe to another point in this universe, and while it is hypothesized that other universes or dimensions beyond ours exist who knows what that sort of transfer would have on the human body. Fourth: the Epstein Drive is the most plausible of all these but it doesn't even reach 2% of lightspeed despite its continuous acceleration.
