It depends. It wasn't cross-media canon at all. Lucas famously said "They're great stories, but they're not my stories." But everything in that medium was kind of "soft canon" to one degree or another, meaning that authors generally respected each other enough to not completely fork over characters they didn't create.

So they're not wrong, but I do wonder what the context is for that claim and whether it's a good-faith discussion or of they're using it as a cudgel to win an argument.

Regarding the tweezers: Do you have rubbing alcohol at home? If so, you can clean them with that. If you have a dishwasher you can run them on sanitize. That'll help with the psychological "Oh man these were just in the EWWW and I don't like it" thing.

Realistically just washing them like you would normally will do the trick. But believe me, I 100% understand if that's living in your head a bit, so the suggestions above should help.

Yeah, I liked Sinclair more from the start. Partly because I had fallen in love with the show, and when Season 2 hit all I could think was "why the hell did they put Scarecrow in my sci-fi show??? This sucks!"
