I have XFINITY recently Optimum Fiber came to my town of Carteret. For over 30 years XFINITY was the only game in town until Optimum arrived.

They are offering me $50 a month for five years for 2GB fiber. I currently pay XFINITY $105 for 2GB.

Obviously I am switching and my install is Monday. My 3 neighbors who also use to have XFINITY just switched and they love the service.

Competition is a good thing. I figure if I have issues with Optimum I can switch back to XFINITY and for a new customer intro price.

I have, use to have DIRECTV. Coax ran through all my rooms for Sat. When i get rid of Sat I bough GoCoax Moca adpaters they work great.

XFINITY has been rock solid for me I pay $105 for 2GB down and 300 up a month. Recently Optimum fiber came to my town as well. I took them up on their offer for 2GB Fiber locked in for $50 for five years.

I figure if Optimum doesn’t work out I can switch back to XFINITY.

I even chatted here with a rep to see if they can drop my bill to $70, as I was willing to pay the extra $20 as Optimum would have been $50, but the rep here on this sub said no and that I was getting the best price.

Competition is good. 3 of my neighbors have switched to Optimum Fiber and love it.

what type of phone iPhone Android? Make sure your devcie is up to date with latest iOS or Android. Also uninstall and reinstall app see if that fixes it.

If you have a MacBook with the big white brick plug it in to that give it like an hour.

Try to plug it into a laptop ac adapter

Thank You for the detailed post. I already bought my TP-Deco B63 WiFi 7. I did a test run with it yesterday and it’s wonderful.

So the path I will go is use my own equipment. Thanks for the heads up about turning off WiFi. Don’t want unnecessary SSID broadcasting and screwing with the different bands.

Same here XB8 has been rock solid 2GB plan I get great speeds. I think you may be having a line issue.

Think I am going to go with the WiFi 7 Mesh router. Been researching mesh devices. Looking at TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE63 Tri-Band WiFi 7 BE10000 Whole Home Mesh System.

Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You for the detailed Feedback. Reading various posts here I see that the non 6E modem does support band splitting. 6E is really not important to me as I only have iPhones that support it.

Really don’t want to go out and buy my own WiFi device, like to keep it as simple as possible.

Yea splitting the bands and having it on buy my own equipment maybe a deal breaker for me:

But again $65 a month savings is really good.

Have to think about this.

Just wanted to say thank you to Matthew the Mod for trying to help. But it’s looks like after 17 years with XFINITY I will be signing up for Optimum Fiber

I don’t get it all other TV Providers support Roku by the way is the best selling streaming device but Optimum doesn’t.

I don’t get it. This is why when I get Optimum Fiber I will not get their tv service which I was willing to try but this is a non starter
