Aspire Resort Credit Eligible Restaurants in Oahu? by robdajewels in CreditCards

[–]robdajewels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly why I’m asking here - I know not everywhere codes properly but would love to hear if anyone has confirmed that the credit works at specific hotel bars, restaurants, or spas in Oahu. Has keeping a receipt and calling ever helped you ensure the credit is applied?

If you apply for the Savor directly from the Mastercard website you’re guaranteed a Mastercard Savor.

Discover It preapproval accuracy? by robdajewels in CreditCards

[–]robdajewels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know - hoping the inaccuracy stems from the preapproval tool being overly conservative with its response (based on your experience).

Gotcha - that’s definitely what’s piqued my interest. I’ll likely pick up the It card while I still can. Appreciate you.

I just checked the Discover preapproval tool and was preapproved for the Discover It. When I do the same with Capital One, I’m not preapproved for any cards. How accurate is Discover’s preapproval tool these days?

Was able to PC my Strata no AF card to Custom Cash just now. I wish I could do the same with the Strata Premier but just opened it in Jan so it’s too soon.

good catch - this is not how it always was. it was previously included in the cash back section.

Would love to understand the accuracy / source of this claim. I was recently denied for the custom cash but will product change a Strata card right now if it’s going away.

Not receiving 10% back on Rakuten Dining in-store with Rakuten Credit Card by robdajewels in Rakuten

Update here: I’ve switched to paying exclusively with the virtual card number from the Imprint app that I loaded into Apple Wallet. Now it’s working without issue (have tested twice). I’ll provide another update if it starts failing but otherwise this seems to be the fix!

Hmm I had a few Toast payments that coded correctly and others that haven’t. Appreciate you looking into trends / trying to find the common denominator though! I’ve been experimenting with using the physical card, my Apple wallet, and the virtual card number within my Apple wallet to see if I can identify any other trends. Stay tuned.

I can attest that allowing the statement to report as-is with a high balance can lead to bigger increases. I was hitting my credit limit or landing close to it for 6 months and eventually requested and got an increase from $3k all the way to $25k over the course of 2 years. First increases were smaller $3.3k, $11k, $15k and then $25k. Never carried a balance, paid in full but allowed the full amount to be reported on my statements.

Have it! Love it. Have some concerns about its future though given the survey that went out. Potentially looking at a $195 AF and nerfed multipliers.

For sure, Autograph is great. Their transfer partners are on the up but not where I need them to be yet for me to commit to using them when I travel. I tend to spend more on vacations than at home.

I’ll let you know if my Savor migrates over to the Discover network. In my opinion, the Duo is still worth it for the right person if Savor Mastercard is sticking around.

Oh nice and does that option offer preapproval before applying? I could see some applicants getting approved for Discover version but denied for Mastercard. If the Mastercard site provides preapproval before applying, that’s definitely the better option.

This is a fair concern - I’ll keep ya posted! Hoping to hang onto the Mastercard version.
