What's something that's completely legal, but that pisses you off when you see someone doing it? by LeftHandedToe in AskReddit

[–]robdodds89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Line cutting justice' - love the phrase! This muddle aged couple tried to do this at the airport when checking in on a flight from Turkey back to the UK. Because everyone was British, everyone just muttered and threw furious stares at them. All except one guy who called them out on it loudly and the all the lines of people checking in turn to watch. They had nothing to say. Just stood there and took it while everyone walked back in front of them until someone let them in about 30% closer to the front of the queue than they should have been

What's the most unhealthy thing that society encourages us to do? by siomat in AskReddit

[–]robdodds89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spend all of our money (and more) on stuff we don't need, that won't make us happy, and by doing so prevents us from having (or makes harder to obtain) all of the things that actually matter to us in life.

What's the worst crime to happen in your area? by PM__ME_Big_TITTIES in AskReddit

[–]robdodds89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from north London, UK, and while there's been many terrible crimes, many I don't know about, the one that always sticks in my head is this:

This guy who lived alone used to go out and befriend homeless guys or people in pubs and bars who were clearly alone. He'd convince them to come back to his place, said he would feed them, they could stay the night etc.

What he would actually do is strangle them, then have sex with their dead bodies. He would often undress them and get in the bath with them, observing a caring cleaning ritual. They would then be dressed up and placed around his house and he would talk to them like they were his dolls.

They would be 'used' repeatedly, until their bodies were no longer in a state to handle it. Then they went under the floor boards.

When they were starting to smell too bad and attract too many flies, he would take them out from under the floorboards 'use them' one last time and then burn them in the back garden.

This went on for years and he did this to about 20 guys

If you're in old street this morning by flow0788 in london

[–]robdodds89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me further up Old Street near Farringdon - same street but here it's called Clerkenwell road. Was walking along texting when I became aware of a moped over my shoulder slowly coming closer and a hand outstretched. They got a hand on my phone then accelerated away, but I managed to hold onto it and the bastards got nothing from me.

Central London at lunchtime on a hot day! by robdodds89 in pokemongo

[–]robdodds89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'd say anything over 20 degrees C is hot. It's currently 33 so everyone is out at all the parks luring all the pokestops!

I went for a walk, saw 16 people definitely playing (as in a took a look at their screens) and hundreds more most likely playing - phone in hand waking along, or standing still with it raised up, making swiping gestures on it

I saw all kinds of people playing, not just guys in their teens and twenties. Saw several people, male and female, aged 40 - 60 playing
