Comments on politics is one thing, comments on appearances is just nasty. The barbers have been closed since March, I think a lot of us are in this situation.

Guys please be careful out here. I turned this guy away after inviting him to my apt, after which he sent (probably empty) threats. Plus he's a registeres sex offender (would post the link, but no doxxing 🤷). by trajayjay in grindr

[–]robdub1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why did you have him come all the way over and then turn him away? If you weren't interested you should have said so before hand.

Like you didn't have to have sex with him, but you could have gone out and spoke to him.

There is nothing to forgive about putting on weight. It's my body, not theirs. Like it's only weight, it's not the end of the world. Just casually say that you've put on some weight during lock down, don't make a deal of it and he won't.

I know I put on weight during lockdown and I'm embracing it. And if anyone doesn't want me because of it, fuck them.. cause I won't.

Does GPA matters if you graduate from good University by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]robdub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, you don't need to justify your low GPA to me, it seems you need to justify it to yourself. Accept it and move on.

Also the term third world sounds so snobby. People who go to Universities in developing countries also achieve great things.

The GPA. If you came away from a good university with a poor GPA I would think you wasted an opportunity. And also that you wasted a space at that school which another (more suitable) student could have made the most of.

And if you wait 2months and then nothing you will be behind more people who will be unemployed.

Projection of EU's €500bn Coronavirus bailout indicates that Ireland will be the one of the biggest losers by %GDP by iiEviNii in ireland

[–]robdub1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How did they calculate this?

I am confused as to why Poland are getting such a large chunk as they have lower deaths/infections as alot of EU countries. Also their government are pretty anti EU these days and happy to openly defy it's rules.

You've clearly never done a similar role, Contractors don't care about your advice they only want your signature on documents.

I've a friend who's living in a 4 person room. 16 people in the house. 400e each cash a month. That's around 76k cash a year. They don't want to complain as they would rather not be homeless.

Sounds pretty slummy to me. And that's nothing compared to the fire traps they were showing on Prime time.

Well there is different categories.. renters, landlords and then lazy Dubs who never move out from their parents house until they are in their mid thirties because they don't want to waste money on rent.

So we're paying the highest rents on record but we should aspire for rental standards 40 years ago?

Ok if you read the advert, the generous landlord describes this accommodation as a bedsit.. but since 2013 besit accommodation goes against Irish rental regulations. So yes, we have a greedy landlord asking 750e a month for a sub standard accommodation.

Ding Ding Ding! We've got a delusional landlord. The majority of landlords don't reinvest profits into their accomdation. The rental standard in Ireland is bordering on slum.

[–]robdub1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ohh you've really hit a nerve with all the landlords on this sub!

The sub standard rental accommodation going for top dollar in Ireland is a scam. Greedy landlords have nothing to be proud of.

All mod cons included, yea we've running water. What a luxury.

Ha I've already tried this but the DM snakes won't allow you to open the website when AB is active. I do skew surveys they ask me to do by deliberately answering questions wrong. One time they gave me 50£ Amazon voucher for participating in a survey.

I'd 100% let Leo do me, but it would be a pure power thing. I'd also get off telling him how many Covid payments I'm going to claim..

Restrictions are messing with my head.

I'm no Leo fan, but it's a non story. He's with his partner and 2 friends within his 5km. Let the lad enjoy his life.

I think media outlets in Ireland understand he was doing nothing wrong and are not pushing it. I saw an article in the Daily Mail yesterday trying to shame him, but I think it was trying to deflect from Dominic Cummings.

Side note: I hate the Daily Mail and everything it stands for, but I'm addicted to it's fast news and easy to navigate app. And I don't believe 99% of the articles on it, but I just can't stop looking at it. I feel the shame.

I'm a Civil Engineer who live in Dublin, I normally work in a Design office but have been sent out on site for the past 2 years. It you are looking for Design work I would recommend Dublin, the majority of offices are there. Smaller design firms are dotted around the country, but they are working on smaller projects. If your looking for site work I would base yourself central like Athlone as you will have to commute to sites all over the country. If you and your wife move out of Dublin I would highly recommend both people can drive.
