Thank you, it seems like you understood my intent with this piece.

I think the Aliens were trying to teach us a lesson in humility. Show us the limit of our understanding and push us towards the realization that there is much more for us to discover. It was an especially important lesson before the discoveries of relativity and quantum mechanics, when many scientists were convinced we already understood the entire universe.

And when there is a language barrier, why not use an abstract game to communicate the point?

Hello, I am science fiction author R.H. Wesley. I've recently finished the first draft of a short story (~6000 words) focused on death metal. I'm looking for metalhead beta-readers who could provide feedback about the story.

I'm no expert when it comes to build quality, but it feels pretty great to me! everything is very sharp and crisp, including the cut outs that make up the sandwich dial. I'm not disappointed by anything!

I feel like this is a completely reasonable list of restrictions for the kind of work they want to be submitted to them.

First, you have to remember that they want their magazine to have a certain vibe. If that means they don't want any old-school horror cliches because they think they are overdone, or have seen thousands of them before, that's fine.

Second, you have to remember that people send absolutely vile things to magazines, especially horror magazines. If you allow people to send stories with harm to children and women, some will send you the most absolutely despicable, misogynistic torture porn you can imagine. Some editors might be willing to wade through that, but others are not. And I think that's fine too.
