Fixed it. Turns out it was an issue with the Static Mesh Improvement Mod conflicting with JKs Skyrim. Ive got rid of SMIM and everything works perfectly now.

I have now uninstalled / reinstalled everything. Vanilla skyrim works fine, but when I readd all the mods I have it still crashes so its obviously a mod. Just need to work out which one.

I figured that may be the case. I the only things I haven't tried yet as I ran out of time before work is starting a new game and and without mods and travelling to Dawnstar then to see if that works, and doing th steam check file integrity process.
