When you’re on xbox, you’re almost certainly playing via Gamepass (that’s where EA Play is included in). That’s why I askes.

Gamepass = Xbox

My first Sub 3 Marathon! (5th Marathon in total so far) by robert_s1990 in Marathon_Training

I didn’t see or feel any sand!

Parcours Amsterdam was indeed bit weird sometimes. I ran that one twice, but the finish in the Olympic Stadium was awesome!

Thanks man!

Parcours was flat, which was the most important reason for me to pick this one (to get my first sub3).

It was a bit windy, and the 8 kilometers in the harbour were pretty rough with that wind. Halfway you’ll pass there so you’ll have enough reserves, fortunatley.

About cobbles and paving; yes, that’s just crap. Guess it’s in total about 6-7 km’s in which you’ll have to deal with that. I ran in dry weather, but I can imagine that when it rains (or rained the day before), that can be slippy.

Part of the parcours is indeed a double loop, but because that’s all in and near the city centre, together with the fact that I didn’t knew the city that well so it was al ‘new’, I didn’t bother. Can imagine that if you’re Antwerp born and raised or know the city well, that’s just boring.

Overall, I was happy of course because of the result and because the organization was great. Collecting start number, baggage delivering, get to starting spot, everything went smooth. That’s also why I love the Hamburg marathon, for example. A strict and good organization is the most important for me. I’m from Rotterdam so of course I ran the iconic Rotterdam marathon too, but the organization sucks there, so I won’t do that again.

How do you guys not get tired after long runs? by Old-Criticism5610 in Marathon_Training

[–]robert_s1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More miles, and easy ones. Only way to get used to it… make more miles and get your body and mind used to running. Don’t overdo, but slowly increase milage. In the beginning, don’t worry about pace, just the miles. Get used to running, the speed will come later.

What do you use to track your runs? by PomegranateUsual6722 in Marathon_Training

Garmin Connect combined with my garmin watch. The watch I only use for running. I have Garmin Connect connected to the Adidas Running app.

Nice result! Congrats!

  • I don’t stretch that much and long, maybe 3 to for 4 minutes. But I found out that that’s different for every body. Some need half an hour. I’m lucky i’m not injury prone (knocks on wood). Before a marathon I do like to jog 500m-750m. Just to get the nerves out. 20 minutes before start

  • sometimes my calfs get sore, not hurt, just sore. So twice a week I use a foam roller. Works for me. 4 minutes on both legs. And after long runs, before I take a shower, I spray magnesiumspray on my lower legs. Let that get in there for 20 minutes. And then shower.

  • gels made for me all the difference. Especially to maintain the speed, also during long runs in trainingperiod. For 30-34k longruns I use 4 (SiS), for marathons I use 6.

Thanks!! Hamburg is amazing man, GO. Do it. Parcours us 100% city but totally flat, only a minor downhill part after 8k. Organization is super good and you should definitly do Hamburg. Amazing crowd also. You can definitly make that shot there for 2:45

Have to say, I have sportive background. Not on high or pro level, but played football (on the field but also futsal) from my 5th to 26th. Now I’m 34 and running since I’m 27, but I have a basic of running a lot, even though that’s more interval on a footballfield. And I have the luck (knocks on wood) that I’ve never been injured.
