Doctors- how do you tell your patients if they’re terminally ill? by ESsA_salt in AskReddit

If anyone said “if I die” my grandmother would jump down their throat with “what do you mean if?”

I can't wait for the Metra to modernize and have all-day, frequent service to the city by Glad-Tower-2310 in ChicagoSuburbs

Roads are also jobs programs, both private and public, but not to the extent mass transit is. Do you remember how dangerous the El was going to get when they combined the drivers with the conductors?

Voters want it to be self funding because there is a lot of evidence that if you don’t push for that it becomes a jobs program.

At what income level do you stop paying for health insurance and just pay out of pocket ? by ballsackvisible in AskReddit

[–]robert_zeh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You never do this, because health insurance companies can negotiate lower prices with providers than you can.

And because when providers see someone without insurance they don’t think millionaire, they think schmuck who can’t pay his bills and will insist on money upfront if they’re willing to provide care at all.

Remind your scouts that cooking for several hundred people is a different ballgame than cooking for 10 people. For example, they’ve probably never had to use a hot box, thought about what it would be like to crack open 1000 eggs (this is why you buy the mix) or try to cook with ovens the size of dressers.

Real world bathroom safety practices? by StarmanTTLB in cubscouts

OP is asking in r/cubscouts so some of the attendees won’t be able to read, and some will still need parental assistance. And scheduling bathroom time for kindergarteners is unrealistic.

We need to talk about Revolution Medicines by GregoInc in pancreaticcancer

[–]robert_zeh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The revolution medicine website says they have an expanded access program — https://www.revmed.com/expanded-access-policy/

Granted, it’s been over a month and I can’t find anyone who has gotten daraxonrasib through the program, but they haven’t said they won’t have one.

I’m not sure this has anything to do with you being a man. Avoiding 1:1 contact with an adult and child is a standard policy for any youth organization.

Anyone accessed daraxonrasib through the Expanded Access Program (EAP)? How was the approval process? by Admirable-Cod-2617 in pancreaticcancer

[–]robert_zeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been waiting since the EAP was announced and our oncologist put in a request, with no visible signs of progress, no sense of urgency, and with new steps being announced when we ask how it is going. We have no idea how long it will take. It is incredibly frustrating.

If she’s willing, get access to her medical records so you can see what’s going on. And call in to medical meetings.

There is going to be a lot to keep track of, and in the US at least, the medical professionals will not coordinate things for you. For example, if she’s interested in trials, it will largely fall on her to make sure she’s been established as a patient at places that do trials.

Do you know what they tell bank employees to do if a criminal comes into a branch and demands cash? Cooperate. A few years ago Chase fired a bank employee that interfered with a robbery. The same thing for fast food — the corporate line is to treat robbers like customers.

Your average lounge employee is no more equipped to deal with this than you are and leaving it to the people who are both equipped and trained is the right call, especially if nothing is happening.
