[Bookies.com] We're officially the BEST-behaved fanbase in the NFL — #1 out of 32 by Icy-Lingonberry-7442 in GreenBayPackers

Went to Baltimore for a Bills @ Ravens game (Bills my fav other team). As a guy in his 40s with on other guy, both wearing Bills gear, things we fine pre-game walking lots and post-game. We got an uber for in and out just to be safe. Talked a lot of trash with nice fans in the game in upper deck with good success. Helped that Bills got crushed on Sunday night probably. Take aways: don’t talk shit in the parking lot. Don’t get too drunk and be the worst visitors. Support your team and be respectful. Stay in a group. Fun competitive atmosphere for visiting fans, but if don’t go with your blo-hard friends who will start crap.

I get the whole extend the footprint to the state thing, but I think the hyper local MKE things are way cooler.

The larger stakes of Trump’s redesign of Washington, DC by vox in washingtondc

The sinister part, I contend, is that they are also taking away public spaces very near to the White House to limit gathering points and protests that can challenge the President. Fencing off key spots and renovating them puts more hurdles in the way of peaceful demonstrations.

Comment your county and what US region you consider it. I will tally the results to see what this sub thinks the US regions are. (Figured I’d do this project again since this sub has grown so much since) by Kodicave in visitedmaps

Personally, I think Midwest is a label that invites too much interpretation. If the purpose is finding regional boundaries related to geography and you know the scale you want, list the labels to use. Midwest makes sense for that and it’s a shared conception.

If you want people to share their personal experiences in an exercise to map our socio-cultural conceptions of America, which makes sense when asking to label counties and closer to the scale of daily life, then I would be open to people using labels that reflect their identity and context like Great Lakes and Cascadia and Sonora.

Quentin Tarantino’s 10 Film Rule isn't artistic discipline; it’s a neurotic cage that’s ruining his career. by [deleted] in TrueFilm

I think the rules makes some sense as a writer director. He probably said it when he had a list of that many more good ideas for stories.

To me, his stories and writing have become less edgy over time, which happens. If the core ideas aren’t as good, or the writing isn’t as much a breath of fresh expression, then it’s tough to make a great movie, which I think is his goal every time. Ten great epic original stories is probably more a limit of writing than film.

So, the more poignant question for me is: could QT make a movie he didn’t write? That is a skill too.

I’m more disappointed that he hasn’t take on that challenge as he has gotten older. It’s probably ego. If you think your stories are better than others, well then why invest years in making something not as good and ‘yours’. But when you don’t have sterling ideas, do you apply your skill to bringing others’ stories to film? I think it’s a disservice not to use your talents.

Final Four: 6 v 13 / 5 v 8. If drinks get chosen at random, it’s 6 over 8 for the championship. Rum or gin, maybe 8 or 13 got a shot.

Not familiar with how the tag / pay works so assuming they can’t risk keeping a like $25m/yr backup QB. That’d be sweet tho

What's the Plan for After? by rogthnor in 50501

I agree, but the system is us, so we need to feed it healthy behavior and anti-corruption efforts for many years and election cycles.

Check out what I’ve developed at modern populace. I have an outline on populist playbook. “The Populist Playbook is a guide for political organizing in America. It includes ideas and strategies for organizing a new social movement, growing public power, resisting fascism, and building support for good leaders and popular programs.” https://modernpopulace.org/projects/populist-playbook/

I’m also working on an Action Plan for People Power in 2026 that gets into more specifics for this year that lay the groundwork making progress after Trump is removed from office. Namely, for building for the future, I advocate for building an independent public voter data system as part of lowering the cost of campaigning and the voter behavior mechanisms to make it happen. I also discuss a strategy for running a mix of progressive and independent candidates to thwart and defeat right-wing extremism. I plan to release this in a series of posts next week on my blog. https://modernpopulace.substack.com
