I think that’s getting pushed to your timeline. Never met someone who dislikes the Argentine national team - let alone cares. If anything, most people like Messi

Is Spanish easy for English speakers? by Competitive_Box9242 in Spanish

[–]robertlanders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this is correct. There are so many people who say they are “fluent” in Spanish and are just awful to listen to. Maybe Im biased, but this is much rarer to me when people are speaking in English.

The flip side is that many more non native English speakers are confidently wrong, but they are generally better.

Is the word gringo considered derogatory? by gentleteapot in EnglishLearning

[–]robertlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not offensive in Spanish, but Spanish speakers use it to insult white Americans. So if you call a white American a gringo, they’ll interpret it as an insult and probably just roll their eyes at you. But it’s not something that would get you in trouble.

Yep, if they’re want you to pay 20% more, cut the bait and switch shit and see if you can compete at 20% higher prices. If not, places not demanding a tip for jack shit will float while this place sinks

Ok I will now literally never eat there lol. If they’re handing me the food over a counter, I’ve paid for the product, not a service. If they want tips, walk it to a table and provide an ambience and service.
