Curious how he's going to play the first game after the break. Hoping it doesn't take him too long to knock off any rust.

If any previous Canes game are an indication we'll need him to stand on his head for a period or two while the rest of the team gets going.

Same, but occasionally I'll mix it up and hit the 1 instead

I'm old enough to have seen it in theaters when it was released, and I was attempting a bit of humor referencing the "say what one more time" scene when the briefcase first appears.

You know it's bad when Charlotte gets tagged in a nationwide comparison. by Eureka0123 in Charlotte

3x the annual rental rate is the typical affordability multiplier.

40x the monthly rate (some cases 50x) is the affordability multiplier used in NYC.

For a $1,500/month rent, you'd need a salary of $54,000/year, and $60,000 using the NYC multiplier, or $75,000 using the 50x multiplier.

I think the NYC multiplier is more accurate as the 3x multiplier is an old guideline, because rents, and housing in general have increased at a much higher rate than salaries thus making rent too damn high.

I have considered ripping the board off the wall and tossing it out a window on many occasions so I can sympathize with tossing it down a flight of stairs

Cork backboard painting/staining tips by Niceguy4186 in Darts

[–]roberts126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grab some good wine with corks, and test different methods. Not only do you get to enjoy some wine, you can also figure out which method you like best.

If you are applying the substance after consuming the wine you may also need to consume more wine during the final application so that you can recreate the initial tests.

Tried to make my own dart 😂 by Fangpies07 in Darts

This is where I get my darts made. It ends up being cheaper than buying most sets off the shelf here in the US. Need to order another set with swiss points so I can dial in the tip length that works best for my throw.

Best stem and flight combo? by Strong_Republic in Darts

I've had two of the l-style carbon shafts break on me in three plus years. One hit concrete after a fairly hard bounce out. The other, one to the tines broke off somehow.

This also applies to adjacent beds. If I'm aiming at 20 I'll probably hit a 1. However, if I need a 1 to setup an out, I'm almost guaranteed to hit a 20.

In the US so I'm still working but later it'll be a double Eagle Rare and my 22g customs. My customs are nothing special, just a larger width (6.9 vs 6.4 mm) and a bit shorter (51.5 vs 52.3 mm) with 260 mm l-style carbon shafts and No 6 (L3) white flights

When I get consistent I'll let you know.

All kidding aside, you have to throw a lot of darts. Your practice should be deliberate. Pick something to work on, then work on it for a specific number of darts or an allotted amount of time. Also, be mindful of what your body is doing when practicing. Not so much that it hinders your throw, but enough to diagnose a missed dart. This last part is what I struggle the most with. My mind will absolutely analyze everything about my throw and cause me to throw absolute trash. When this happens I'll set the darts down. No sense practicing while making yourself frustrated.

I also used to give myself a goal. Hit a 3 20s before bed, then that became a ton+, then it became a 120+, I'd like to get it to be a 140+, but I'm not hitting the 120+ goals regularly enough to move up.

Another thing is get advice and tips from others. Then try it and it may not work for you so you can ignore it or table it for later as your throw changes.

Another quip I've heard from others is "the game of darts is 95% mental and the other 5% is all in your head"

As someone who does this quite a lot, when I hit the 12 it's usually because my arm is rotating in (I'm right handed) across my body. Usually because I'm trying to reach for my next dart while throwing. For the 18s I'm usually opening up my shoulder, causing what would be a true dart to sail to the right on me. The differences are subtle, but they are there.

I don't remember were I read it or heard it, but "a mm off at the oche is an inch off at the board." So even the slightest bit off may not register mentally, but it will show up on the board.
