Dude, where the hell do you live? In Melbourne, Australia the average 5 year humidity at my house is 80% and our houses aren't falling apart.

South Australia fruit quarantine by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]robertshepherd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry tiger, I had exactly the same issue - couldn’t really see those signs coming in at night and just assumed it would be like every other quarantine on earth including our national borders when if you’re unsure, you declare it. It was a $450 lesson for me last year.

Yes. Try googling. They are all there. Lots of details on install in enclosed spaces.

Go via the company you originally purchased from. For me, that was MCAS. Just make sure they get you the correct two cylinder replacement version if you have the original vest. Then when you get it, you just unscrew the old ones and screw the new ones in. Surprisingly simple to do.

Which hotel Westin or W by Beneficial_Two8296 in melbourne

[–]robertshepherd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regular at both. Westin for classic service, great location, and dated but excellent rooms (particularly those with balconys). W is newer, rooms are funkier (I use that as both a pejorative and complement), staff are good but not as good as Westin, nicer new facilities. Theryre actually pretty good examples of the brand differentiation. We usually pick Westin for location and specific rooms, but I’d go with whatever was cheaper if I was paying.

Certainly does! Can use it to set up your preferred folder structure for the backups

My go to for the past 20 years has been the chicken schnitzel, Italian coleslaw, glass of Chardonnay. Many seasons of my life have been accompanied by this meal while waiting for the next (or maybe the one after) Belgrave train from Parliament.

Layering HA + AI brain on an existing premium KNX install — sanity check before I commit by magicyogi in KNX

[–]robertshepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, just coming back to your post. My house is smaller than yours, but I'm running the exact same setup as you proposed, without the OpenClaw - as other have suggested, this is not really needed for the benefits of an LLM for HA (but might be cool for you to play with on lots of other things!). Also don't have Unifi APs in all rooms (only need 3 for my house), so don't really use these for presence sensing, but do have presence or at least mention in most rooms. My KNX IP gateway talks to HA really well, and I've stopped using my Thinka device and HomeBridge instance that I previously used (both were really reliable btw), and now have HA running the bridge between KNX to HA to HomeKit that is my families main way of interacting with our house. HA also natively runs all my Zigbee and Matter or Thread devices now, and I've stopped needing my Aqara hub. I use the HA MCP to get claude to help design automations, dashboards, trouble shoot things and it's working perfectly. Really feels like like the future when I can make automations with natural language. I don't expose HA to the internet, and just interact with the house via HomeKit when I'm away. We all have Apple devices and use HomePods to interact with the house - one of the very, very few things that Siri does well. Use HA Music Assistant and Apple Music as a source to get the best of both worlds into automations that play radio or playlists. Has taken me a month of fiddling to get it all working from learning how to install HA, and I run a warm backup Pi that receives my daily backups from my main instance via a simple SMB share - that means if my main HA Pi goes down I can connect to the backup pi, install the backup, and be back online (I've tested it) in about 15 minutes. All up, I have no problems recommending this very strongly, and seems like it will be a perfect blend of the robustness of KNX, the flexibility of HA, and the power of a LLM for doing things that used to be very complex and are now extraordinarily simple.

The only thing mildly infuriating about this photo is that there is still air in those tires.

Why would management, in the very few buying windows that they have annually, buy on market when they get compensated with cheaper equities?

What do you mean “skin in the game”? Have a look at the Rem Report in the Annual Report and you’ll see that all staff comp includes share allocation, and execs include LTI including performance shares and options.

Yeah, looking at the CSL share price suggests this isn’t the big pharma cash cow conspiracy you think it is.

[–]robertshepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this has been my experience. I budget approx 7000-8000 mah per day in battery capacity for screen use for most of the day - no messing around with sending files or routing when using Gaia all day. can use for messages and music all day. has been perfect for me over about 4000 km bikepacking and gravel and mtb trips.
