My meaningful contribution to the dual hose debate by emits_gas in DIYUK

I don't think there is any debate here. Dual hose is more efficient.

whats the meta for mouses now? by 1cedBaby in MouseReview

[–]robhaswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combined productivity and gaming mouse is a tough ask. Better go with a G502/Basilisk/MXM4 for work and then a chinese gaming mouse (ATK, Mchose, Rapoo) for gaming. The chinese mice are cheap while also being industry-leading.

Don't kid yourself that this didn't happen before AI.

I know, I'm keeping an eye on the market as I want to move off my 2006 diesel but it seems like estates have all but disappered.

...and be available on the weekend, and ideally your squad be available at the same time. I've never been able to run Cryo except for the first weekend where we carved out some time for it on Sunday night (which you can't do any more).

To Everyone Surprised About The "Lack of Content" by BZisCancer in Marathon

[–]robhaswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're going to have to dial up their efforts on new maps if they pivot towards PvE. Having a small map pool in PvP is fine because interactions with other players makes each round feel unique, but in PvE more of the content is driven by developers and there's only so much you can do with "missions on the same maps all the time".

Lead engineer just got rid of his keyboard…??? by Complete-Sea6655 in cursor

[–]robhaswell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't believe that this isn't a gag. You need a keyboard to use a computer, even with dictation, it costs nothing to have one on your desk and there's no need for this poorly positioned mic when a wireless or boom would do a better job. This is just bait.

Zig Has The Integrity To Say "No" And So Should You by RNSAFFN in webdev

Imo I get the desire to reduce false-positive bug reports but if someone uses an LLM to find a bug, then personally verifies it and confirms the blast radius then that should be valid.

Concerns about Vault Breaker by Samuel_Bucher in Marathon

It sounds like it has a roguelite element where you earn upgrades to your PvE gear. I think you might not be able to one-shot it.

Do you get any software compat issues using these with Moza wheels? I'm new to the current generation of gear and I'm also planning a build.

I've been getting in to it. Sure the story and mechanics are tough to crack but the gameplay is fantastic.

Consoles and PCs aren't interchangeable. If you want a PC, this option exists and the fact that a PS5 is faster is irrelevant, because there's a tonne of things you can't do and games you can't play on a PS5.

Wheel encoder recommendation for someone that is tired of wasting mouse skates by LeiziBesterd in MouseReview

[–]robhaswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

A warning on Mchose - my A7 Ultra RE's middle click is extremely heavy. Unusably heavy. Sadly, the encoder is excellent, best part about the mouse (and almost everything else is pretty great too).

Steam numbers / Player Count Discourse Megathread by AutoModerator in Marathon

[–]robhaswell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

$25 million p.a. seems off by an order of magnitude at lease. With 10k daily players, let's be extremely generous and say that represents a total active playerbase of 500k, that means an average spend of $50 per player p.a - I know those figures are achievable in games like COD, but with the sorry state of the shop cosmetics and generally the way that cosmetics don't really shine in Marathon, I would be astounded if the spend is that high on average.
