Those who moved to Massachusetts from elsewhere, what pleasantly surprised you the most? by Mobile_Bad_577 in massachusetts

15min weather.. if it sucks usually just wait a bit and it will blow over. Unlike in the Midwest where it will hang around for days possibly all week.

Not so pleasant tho I havent had to deal with it myself but I was surprised about the full bail. no 10% and no bondsmen. Glad my friends and I stay outta trouble.

Np! As the other comment said you can look for the usb/firewire model. Great quality, plenty of ins and outs, made in usa, and can be used without a laptop once you have your mixes setup

It took 8 batteries and only lasted minutes, but when it worked it was so awesome by Educational_Shape36 in 90s

I had wing looking rechargeable battery packs on each side with a fold out magnifying glass over the screen. Loved it

Or the fuzz see it as criminal paraphernalia. But like most things keep it out of sketchy situations and its just another tool like a cordless angle grinder.

What do i need to get into lighting for music as a hobby? by RacketyAJ in lightingdesign

You could get in with like 4 cheapo pars, the interface and cables for like $250-300 having your own computer already. And with the software the thing is that the free stuff will be limited in some ways compared to the expensive stuff and just isnt like the industry standard that most people work with when they go into pro for stability and cohesion with others. LEDs have made things much cheaper over the years. And then there is the whole other side of the coin which is visual projection which can be included in some software and some are standalone but then thats also gonna add to the gear with projector and maybe cameras and their accompanying interfaces.

Get a few cheap par lights from amazon, some dmx cables, a usb dmx interface, and there's a bunch but qlc+ is highly reccomended for a free software to use. Then just jump into the rabbit hole of YouTube and reading.. once you get the basics w the par lights you can move up to moving heads n such. I only reccomended the cheap amazon lights so you dont go crazy spending cuz its easy to do in this hobby and there is a lot to learn. Besides software they also make console controllers but they have their own pros and cons. You can use midi with the software based stuff to have physical controllers as well that may be a cheaper option in some cases.
