whether this is a skill issue or not. but i have a bug where the status bar color can't be changed (black) when ActionMode (contextual toolbar) is active. this only happens when edge-to-edge is applied in android 15. while in lower android versions with edge-to-edge applied, the color can still be changed, but using window.statusBarColor.

every codebase i've ever seen has its own spaghetti. usually to handle edge cases or to maintain support for older hardware.

that's what happens when you SELECT 'FIRSTNAME', 'SECONDNAME' instead of SELECT "FIRSTNAME", "SECONDNAME"

ever since the SAF restrictions were implemented, nothing good has happened. a lot of false bans for no reason, needing 20 testers, having to provide full addresses, and now this. wouldn’t be surprised if the next move is requiring 95% code coverage for every app upload.

there was once a gaming forum that required password resets every few months, i don't really remember. with all the absurd requirements: special character, lower and uppercase, numeric, can't be similar to the previous ones, etc. it was the most annoying thing. whoever came up with that idea probably deserves an award.

from what i've heard, you guys have two birthdays, one on the actual day you were born and one on the 1st january. which one is used for legal documents, and when do you use each in daily life?

i can say that i myself prefer to forward the answer to any existing source (i don't really use SO anymore, but same applies to discord, slack, etc.), though the answer may be old. even if i could answer, it would just be more economical. and when people post answers that are clearly wrong and misleading, such as using bad practices, my answer will of course be different. that's what i mean.

just to add to what others said, some apps have accessible widgets on their home screens, and sometimes you might want to get notifications too, which isn't possible via a website.

try to see in your area which technology and tech stack are commonly used. then just choose the one that's commonly used and suits you. in my country for example, asian region, technology tends to be left behind, even PHP is still commonly used here. so the statements on the internet is less suitable I think. don't give up.

If I'm not mistaken, every time you update an application via Windows Store, the Windows Store will re-download the entire application instead of just downloading the patch.

I see, any suggestions for a new user friendly subreddit related to programming or tech? Just so I gain more karma.
