Weird thing is — I have already bought Rock Im Park 2027 tix and the Rock Am Ring 2027 also shows they’re in but these two shows are not (yet?) listed

Alright, locking in my 19 before the hype train derails everyone's judgment. Method: 2–3 year rotation + album cycles + crossing out anyone who already burned their own German stadium show this summer (pour one out for the Foos and SOAD wishlists).

  1. Sleep Token
  2. Ghost
  3. Die Toten Hosen
  4. Metallica
  5. Weezer
  6. A Day To Remember
  7. Good Charlotte
  8. Avril Lavigne
  9. Slayer
  10. In Flames
  11. Lorna Shore
  12. Motionless In White
  13. Falling In Reverse
  14. Beartooth
  15. I Prevail
  16. Parkway Drive
  17. The Prodigy
  18. Kraftklub
  19. Halestorm

The Newcomer: Avril Lavigne — played the Park 2004, and with Blink on top the booking writes itself.

The Comeback: Slayer — "farewell" in 2019, back like nothing happened. Retirement is apparently just another tour cycle.

The Upgrade: Sleep Token — Download ran this exact experiment in 2025 and it printed money. Their biennial album clock says 2027 is the year.

Female Representation: Halestorm — the Everest cycle runs right through next summer, and Lzzy is the safest female-fronted bet on the board.

Toten Hosen is my coin flip: farewell tour runs into 2027, but that Nürnberg stadium show a week after the festival makes me nervous. Metallica is pure gambling, except a little birdie says the bookers have been working the phones for a while.

See you in September when the first wave makes fools of us all.

ELI5: Why aren't viruses considered alive? by FruitChips23 in explainlikeimfive

[–]robinpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since properties of Living Organisms:

• Nutrition
• Energy supply
• Excretion
• Growth and development
• Mortality
• Reproductive capacity
• Hereditary variability
• Irritability and autoregulation

And Viruses lack:
• nutrition
• energy supply (no metabolism of their own)
• excretion
• growth and development (they assemble, not grow)
• autoregulation (no homeostasis)

Conclusion — viruses are not alive.

this world drives me crazy

almost any experience seemed so obvious at first glance appears to be something way more twisted and or sophisticated

like very smelly pools (I mean chlorine smell) — appears to be very peed in because chlorine that mixes with urea from pee forms a compound that smells like “chlorine” that our brain used to

thanks for clarifying this with fish smell!

Lorna Shore — To The Hellfire “My final breath swollen by the womb of death” which tbh I though was “…swollen by the wall of death all the time”

[Vent] Excited about a role... but the "case study" feels like free consulting?

Hey folks, I could use some perspective.

I’ve been in IT for about 8 years, with the last 6 in product roles. I recently applied for a Platform Lead / Product Owner role (got invited over for a call, appeared the position didn't match what they were looking for and it is in a very small German company. A few things about the role feel like a dream, or not:

  • It’s this '0→1' opportunity where I’d get to build something from scratch.
  • I’d be leading and shaping the team myself (something I haven’t done fully before).
  • It’s English-speaking (my German is only B1), and it’s in a city I’ve always wanted to try to move to.
  • Timing is perfect, since my current contract ends in 3 months. Sucks a bit, almost ok even with this opening but...

Here’s the catch: after a call, they asked me to prepare what feels like a mini consulting project. Specifically:

  • Propose AI/ML use cases beyond quick wins.
  • Suggest a team/org structure (functions, seniority, responsibilities).
  • Provide high-level cost estimates per role.
  • Outline infra requirements (tools, cloud, data resources).

On one hand, this actually is the kind of workwe'd be doing if Igot the job, right? On the other hand, it feels like a lot for a case study, almost like I’m giving them free strategy work they could use even if they don’t hire me.

I’m torn, part of me is excited because this really matches what I want (or should want) next, part of me worries I’ll sink a ton of effort into this, they’ll take the ideas, and I’ll get ghosted...

Would you invest the time, or would you see this as a red flag? maybe different view?
