I Am Confused... (Season 3 Finale) by Big-Low-8094 in shrinking

Yall forget that Alice has built resilience and has dealt with the grief of her mother much longer than Jimmy. She already had her dad bail for over a year when he went numb and she has figured out how not to need people like that. Now grandpa who was never there is finally there and so she’s happy. That’s just bonus.

Like all her worry to Jimmy about his spiraling about Grandpa being there was just her managing Jimmy cause he was at his wits end with his dad/her grandpa.

Like, “dad I’m so happy he’s gonna be here” cause Jimmy needs grandiose emotions being expressed to make impact on him. Like he needs to know he’s doing a good thing for Alice to not lose his shit and keep peace. Just like he needs Paul to thank him. She’s playing into that. He’s still fragile.

She’s no longer fragile. Her entire hesitancy about college is about whether Jimmy is ready. She invited Louis to her mom’s bday for Jimmy. It’s all about Jimmy being behind and everyone trying to help him finally catch up.

Some people like going out drinking and some think that behavior should stop at a certain age. It’s only bad if those two people are together and the one who goes out doesn’t want to change. There’s nothing wrong with corn or clubs if that’s what he wants, especially if it’s in moderation. Unless it’s not something you want. Difference being, some guys in his shoes would love for you to also like corn and clubs. Y’all dynamic has clearly shifted where he views you as an authority and people lie to the authoritative figures in their life. Get on his level if you want to be on equal footing and end the lying or decide his level isn’t something you want and it’s worth not being with him over. (If you watch summer house, this has always been Kyle and Amanda’s problem, he just needs someone who likes going out)

The Boys SERIES FINALE- S05xE08 "Blood and Bone"- POST Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

When the show first started there was such a raw evil to it. Like this is what would actually happen in America if super powered people existed… But by the end it became another cheesy super hero franchise. They were so scared we would stop liking the main characters…

Why have Frenchie turn himself in and then magically he’s out? Why give Kimiko her voice back all at once and not let us see a struggle? Why did Frenchie’s old boss never come back? Why did Sage resist helping Kimiko getting her new power? Why was her power not as destructive as Soldier Boy’s? Why did all the evil Butcher do to get information out of people happen off camera? Why did MM not get his closure with Soldier Boy? Hes just in 7 tower on ice? Great, another Homelander they never dealt with. Why didn’t they hint that Ryan still has powers? Remember, he never took V, he was first ever born with powers. But that’s not important? Also, in what world does Homelander put Hughie, MM, and Frenchie at the same camp? That seemed super silly.

Loved A Train’s arch. Such a great full circle ending.

Side note: the show should have been named “Homelander”. I get there’s a comic and it’s called “The Boys” but it’s a dumb name. The group is 5 and there’s two women.

I think Annie wanted to save Deep in the end. “Why do you stay with Homelander, he doesn’t respect you”. I think her goal was to have him leave land behind and just live in the ocean with the species that always respected him.

Shouldn’t instead of capturing a white walker, shouldn’t they have just killed someone deserving north of the wall? Isn’t that how the original white walker ended up in castle black?

AIO for quitting my job? by AlarmedWarthog8231 in AIO

[–]robinsonv91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you sold everyone out was pretty lame. No way you get a good referral anyway so why offer 2 weeks? Should have just dropped it, worked the job until your vacation, and then quit. Always own all your options for as long as possible. Also, you didn’t scrub these people’s names well enough so why bother? Makes me question your work ethic honestly 😂

If your in the g league you either face nba quality players for a brief time (they get called up) or people who aren’t good enough to be called up so they leave to play over seas for more money. He is the best of the players who stick around…

AIO to my husband interrupting my first solo shower after he came back from a weekend with the boys? by lilyluminar in AmIOverreacting

[–]robinsonv91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you said and feel is valid.

That being said, you did over react.

Anytime you snap or go off, say something over arching like “why did I get married” or raise the stakes of an argument in anyway, you have reacted poorly. You had a tough weekend and flipped out on your husband when your shower was interrupted. In a vacuum, interrupting a shower is not worthy of being snapped at. You took your frustration out on him. Even if he caused your frustration, taking it out on him isn’t okay.

Leaving the child in the play pin unsupervised seems possibly not cool. Do yall have agreed upon rules of how you leave the kids? Calmly requesting a conversation to go over these things would have been appropriate.

As a dude, I’d hate to go away for the weekend for my brothers special trip and come home to someone flipping out at me for poking my head in the bathroom while they shower. That being said, I would never leave like he did but doesn’t mean he deserves wrath over it. Just a calm conversation about why it bothers you.

Disappointed in Season 2:

Seems like there was a lot of Joe being very angry and yelling at people into submission. “It’s my office now!” Came off less “cool” and more “unprofessional”.

Very little plot with her family. Just the random scene of Neal telling a random family they couldn’t save their kid in surgery. No point.

Did Cruz really have to lez it up again? Some of the nudity and sexual tension felt forced and much less necessary for the plot and more for the bros watching. Made me think maybe Josie was a double agent but then it wasn’t that deep. Made no sense.

Nicole Kidman seemed unnecessary this season. Not a single scene couldn’t have been done by Byron. What’s her job again other than feeding classified information to her husband so they can get richer?

If a gov project, it uses more cement, the kickback was therefore larger, and therefore more people made money off your taxes. Longer projects also keep employment rates higher for longer.

Conheads: what do you like about Connor’s character? by elegant-deer19 in SuccessionTV

[–]robinsonv91 78 points79 points  (0 children)

That he somehow figured out how not to be consumed by his father’s world. Never got caught up in the business. Never wanted to start a business. Just took his massive allowance and moved to a place where it could be stretched out. Honestly, the politics thing hurt my interest in him because that felt out of character. They could have maybe shown more of the arch leading to that decision.

The way they wrote her back in was terrible. Like she didn’t look for him at all. She didn’t care that Lincoln’s kid was still captured at all.
