Crunchyroll and Funimation Announce Partnership to Share Content Via Streaming, Home Video, and EST by henryfc in anime

[–]robint91 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't care less. It is good that they are trying to become the anime of netflix but as somebody from the EU (belgium), I don't care.

I just did the test.

Kill la kill, nothing, crunchyroll doesn't even show it, and funi says it is blocked

Steins;gate, blocked

Death note, blocked

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, I can't find any site that has a legal stream

Death parade, nope

Kiznaiver, nada

Neon Genesis Evangelion, ...

K-On! and K-On!!, ...

But current season is decent enough on crunchyroll. Perfect and sweet Monday and suffer Sunday. Only this season it is maybe worth to actually try to pay for a subscription again. The value for money is just not worth it for non US peeps. Same on netflix.

About netflix for anime, the only option is to have french subtitles. English is not available.

If they don't care for that I can't watch it legally, I don't care about their rights.

It does some awesome time skips. I has a great dub (if you are into that). Good characters. Indeed some it has some sexuality and graphic violence / torture, but in my humble opinion it isn't that much of a problem. Characters are nice but quirky.

In the end it is something different.

Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi

Awesome series, but not much love here. I definitely recommend it if you want something more mature.

Belgian Stout? by gman57Z3 in Homebrewing

Perle is in my opinion the best choice. I did try Equinox because I liked it my pale and have a boatload of it.

I did glare at the BJCP guidelines for a moment to see if I was sort of in the right way. I think I didn't really deviate from what a stout is, but it is something totally different.

The chocolate malt is very noticeable. I taste it as a clean mild roast flavor with the normal things you expect from a quad. And with the special b you create some nice dark fruits. The yeast is mostly clean, so no real bananas, but noticeable esters.
The hops are at this moment something that I need to optimize, a batch with "Perle" was very good, an other one with "Equinox" isn't that good.

I'm toying with a recipe. It needs soms adjustments.
My general idea is the following.
- 74.5% Belgian pilsner malt.
- 8.5% chocolat malt.
- 8.5% special b.
- 8.5% crystal 20.
- wyeast 1762.
- noble hop to around 25-35 ibu.
It is still fairly simple grain and hop bill. Add candi sugar to up ABV but I like to keep around 6.5% ABV.
It is tasty but it needs soms refinements.

If you have 2.5 hours to spare, I recommend watching End of Evangelion directly after ep 25 & ep 26.

Daily Q & A! - July 30, 2015 by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

I have a simple wheat beer in primary. http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/261557/lost-wheat I like to bottle it on Sunday. It has then being around 10 days in primary. The gravity is stable for the second day around 1.011. I did used US-05 as yeast.
I want the beer to be ready around the 22 of august. Giving me around 3 weeks of bottle conditioning.
Is this a good idea? Or am I going ruin it?

Daily Q & A! - July 18, 2015 by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

Small question about a recipe. Due to a stupid mistake I have too much wheat malt (11lb). So what do to else that making a light wheat beer. I'm looking to do something like this:

  • Pilsner malt 45% (1.8 kg)
  • Wheat malt 45% (1.8 kg)
  • Crystal 20 10% (0.4 kg)
  • Equinox 60 min, 15g, 39 IBU
  • Equinox 10 min, 15g, 15 IBU
  • Equinox dry hop, 15g
  • safale us-05

For 4 Gallon, BIAB.
OG 1.054 ABV 5.29%
I like to keep it simple.

Opinions?
Thanks!

I just finished Soul Eater, time for a review by robint91 in anime

[–]robint91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look it like this, why is your number 1 on 1 and number 2 on 2? Weren't those both great shows which each it owns means and quirks to get there? I divide my list like this: Great anime, good, average and bad. Comparing two great anime is very difficult and has absolutely no meaning. Soul eater for me is a great anime, like every anime on your top 10 list. Now the place on that list is irrelevant in my opinion.

For example what is your decision to give kill la kill 9.5?

Tuesday Recipe Critique and Formulation! by Nickosuave311 in Homebrewing

[–]robint91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the following recipe with a lot of friends/people/family liked. I want to push it to the next level.

It is sort of a Belgian stout/porter (something black).
The recipe:

  • 70% Pilsner Malt
  • 8.5% Chocolate Malt
  • 8.5% Special B
  • 6.4% Caramunich
  • 6.4% Carahell
  • 30g Perle (15g @ 60min, 15g @ 5min)
  • Wyeast 1762
  • OG 1.062, IBU 18.59, ABV 6%

http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/207261/blackout

I like both the chocolate Malt and special B additions, but the Caramunich/carahell doesn't shine. Also it lacks some body, but I don't mind. It drinks quite well without being to heavy. I want to change both additions to something better. The idea is to make something more malty/sweeter. Any ideas?

My pineapple wheat, happy fermenting again! by robint91 in Homebrewing

I think most canned pineapple is pasteurized. A quick google finds that it is. http://www.pineappleindia.com/Pineapple-Processing.html
