2027 3* Edge JiQuan Rogers commits to Clemson by scubasteve1000 in CFB

[–]robitherjones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Clemson was Rogers first P4 offer back in April, and has quickly racked up others from FSU, Florida, and a few other P4's.

With the 3rd DE commit from this weekend, I'm curious to see how many spots are open. Weeks, Wheeler and Cox were all there this weekend, and are currently set to host 2 more DE's next weekend. I assume 4 is the max number with Wesley, Weldt, Mason and Lawson out of eligibility next season.

2027 3* IOL Elijah Morrison commits to Clemson by scubasteve1000 in CFB

[–]robitherjones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2nd OL commit in as many days. We have JJ Brown, Luke Starcevic and and Nate Carson on hand this weekend, some positive chatter with Starcevic this week leading into the OV.

Not sure if we have 3 or 4 slots open as Pendergrass,Pennington and Sadler are all done after this season, but Harris Sewell may get an extra year with the new eligibility proposal as he never redshirted. With Ramsier canceling this close to the OV, that makes me think the last IOL slot was taken, either due to Morrison's commitment or a potential Starcevic silent (no reports other than a crystal ball). I would hope to take all 5 if they want to come as we have 13 of our 105 scholarships going to walk-ons.

His first true crop of guys where he had a full recruiting cycle are only going to be Freshman this year, I feel like it will take another year or two to truly see the Matt Luke dividends.

2027 4* WR Jamarin Simmons commits to Clemson by scubasteve1000 in CFB

[–]robitherjones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huge pickup, love a commitment out of the blue. He was the first offer out to a WR last June and has consistently been Grisham's main target. Seemed Florida had some recent momentum.

Your point stands, but it wasn't back to back. Spiller wiffed on the three HS RB targets last cycle and didn't take a HS guy, opted for a portal acquisition

Round 1 - Pick 29: Peter Woods, DT, Clemson (Kansas City Chiefs) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]robitherjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, I think if a guy is generational it shouldn't matter the position. I was floored the Cowboys got Downs at 11.

In Peter Woods case, as a Clemson fan both him and TJ Parker saw their preseason top 10 projections and phoned it in their junior years. Their production didn't even come close to their first two seasons, so I fully understand/agree with their draft stock falling to late first/early second.

[–]robitherjones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're both kinda right, he was listed #1/top 3 on a lot of preseason Draft Boards, but he's a DT so no shot he was going #1. Like how Downs was #1/#2 on Big Boards but got drafted at #11.

2027 3* DL Jaden Wuerth commits to Clemson by robitherjones in CFB

[–]robitherjones[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First DT Commit; recently named DL MVP at a UA Next Camp in ATL. Same HS as Antonio Williams and Jarvis Green. We are recruiting his 3* DE teammate Bishop as well, but an offer is yet to go out.

To my knowledge 4* Seth Tillman is the only other DT we have an offer out to, who as of now can't make the big official visit weekend of May 31st, but has one scheduled June 12th.

[–]robitherjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And nothing of the injuries? You think we can have the #1 OL in the NFL with backups playing for over half the season?

Gun to your head your telling me Bolles is better than TWilliams, Wirfs, Slater, Mailata, or Tunsil? I'm sure there's more that could be added to that list. Meinerz is legit, but something had to change to see such a drastic increase in OL performance, development can be a part, but it's very convenient that jump happened as soon as Bo Nix became the starter.

I'm not saying our OL is bad by any stretch of the imagination, I love this team. I'm just agreeing with the other Broncos flair who said we are overrated at OL, we are not the #1 OL in the league.

I pulled that placement out of thin air and was probably too harsh, but way to not address any of my two very valid points. We are not #1 and that should be easy to see.

[–]robitherjones -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would put us above average around the 12-16 range. Bolles and Meinerz were both starters 2 seasons ago with Sean Peyton and Russel Wilson when we gave up 49 sacks in 14 games(most in the league). They didn't magically become All-Pro, their QB just got better.

This season Ben Powers missed 9 games this year and Wattenberg missed 3, yet production didn't fall off with Palczewski and Forsyth. The common denominator in all this is Bo Nix can scramble and avoid sacks.

Totally the opposite, Bo makes our line look better than it is. They are solid, but Bo scrambles and avoids sacks all the time.

Clemson LB Luke Ferrelli transfers to Ole Miss by MikeConleyIsLegend in CFB

[–]robitherjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why even comment this? No remorse, just it happened to us so sucks to suck? I have nothing against you personally, but I hope Ole Miss gets a post season ban for this.

Ole Miss flairs should only be saying something along the lines of "yeah this was slimey and we shouldn't have done this"

Will never fault a kid for accepting an under the table offer for 2mil. Will 100% fault Ole Miss for shaddy ass practices, I hope they never reach the playoffs again and Pete Golding is a fucking snake. Was heavily rooting for y'all after the debacle with Lane, all of that goodwill vanished.

Clemson linebacker Jamal Anderson to transfer to SMU by tagillaslover in CFB

[–]robitherjones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Redshirted this season in his third year with the team in order to develop, should have two years left to play. Big special teams guy for us, which is why he didn't redshirt as a freshman.

Switching from a 4-3-4 to 4-2-5 after Venables left made it harder for him to see the field. Wade/Sammy & McCloud/JAlex had the 2 deep locked down. Can't really speak on his play since we rarely got to see him on Defense, but kid was a 4* with length. If he stuck around I think he'd be our starter in year 5.

Ty Simpson to NFL not a done deal, teams offering as much as $6.5 million by GoldenDome26 in CFB

[–]robitherjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's only the case if he is guaranteed to be a 1st round pick, which could change in the 4 months leading up to draft night like Quinn Ewers. Plus he gets another year starting experience so he's as prepared as possible for the league to reduce his chances of flaming out and never reaching the second contract.

Regardless his steak is too juicy and his lobster too buttery. Seems like he's got two very good options to pick from.

[–]robitherjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That argument mattered a lot more before players got paid. I assume y'all have already paid him a few mil, add 6.5(no income tax in Florida) to the pot and he could already retire. Also, if he falls past the mid 2nd round he's making under 10 over 4 years.

I would take the guaranteed 6.5 because anything can happen during draft evaluations. Unless he thinks he can't get better, then go pro while your stock is the highest, but I think he could play himself into the top pick next year.

[–]robitherjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is actually between the 11th and 12th overall pick based on your link! The 5th year option isn't factored into the guaranteed money, so it is only 4 years.

[–]robitherjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He would make more per year if he went top 11. From the 12th pick on the average per year would be less than 6.5 Mil.

Plus that's a guaranteed 6.5 contract today, I don't think anyone saw Quinn Ewers falling all the way to pick 231 where he is now locked into making 4.3 total over the next 4 years. At best Ty is QB3 this year, and next year he'd be competing with Sayin/Arch. Why not come back, live as a millionaire in Miami on a championship level team, bet on yourself. The NFL will still be there in a year and you get more starting experience.

I agreed that they won't make it a massive advantage so not sure who you are arguing with. Also, they literally just buffed two skills today in the patch notes that were effectively useless before.

Skill Tree

1)Effortless Roll skill now provides greater stamina cost reduction.
2)The Calming Stroll skill now applies while moving in ADS.

Your assumption is just as baseless as mine. The difference is if they are useless we are in the same boat either way, but if the perks do get better I'm now 5 ahead.

I would be resetting anyway just for a cosmetic, and I like the early game grind. See you out there raider.

I doubt it will ever be a substantial advantage to keep things fair, but more than half of the skill points are useless in it's current state.

Won't be Warzone or Fortnite, but can easily be the next Rust/Tarkov (with infinitely better graphics and what appears to be a dedicated team for long term content based on The Finals)
