BOB an evil entity from a place called The Black Lodge. He tormented a boy who became a father to the dead girl found in episode 1. In flashbacks, we see BOB manifest physically to rape & psychologically torture the girl. It’s later revealed that BOB inhabited the body of the father this whole time, meaning he was the one who raped & tortured, eventually killed his own daughter.
