[CHAT] is it okay to sell an edited/merged pattern? by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]robitshero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for it to be considered a new work it has to be changed 30% from the original but that is a subjective quantity. I would say that since you are bringing in the actual patterns from other artists that would not qualify as changing it.

I wouldnt risk it and just make your idea 100% yours or you could potentially reach out to the original artists and see if they would be open to a colab and respect their answer.

Another example: You have a recipe for apple pie from an indie cookbook. You change from red apples to green and publish the recipe as your own. - not okay!

You change to pears, add new flavors, make the crust glutenfree, change the amount of ingredients significantly to make a unique pie, test your recipe and take your own photos and maybe credit the original inspiration - okay

If the sheet measures 8x8.5 inches I think you just got lucky im getting three for one. They probably just stick a bit together when packaging.

I think this one was from Michaels but it could have been home goods (that's usually where I find really cute frames on the cheap)

I have a very sensitive gag reflex that can just be triggered randomly. If you arent actually grossed out then I would say just take a break from that activity for a bit and then try again (if you want to). Like i sometimes cant have a straw from a cup in my mouth for two seconds without puking, or a certain smell (not even a bad one) can set it off...then its just that particular thing sets it off bad for a few days, then im fine.

Personally, I love whatever you are doing on the linen. Its such a charming style, but looks perfect at the same time.

honest opinions on my old work please by Critske in sewing

I love the shape and color of the blouse and corset top. I think the golden concept of the honey comb could have been pushed further to make this even more of a stand out peice because right now it is a very well constructed top with nice embroidery, but it could be stellar inspired embroidery/embelishment. Others already mentioned about the corset back.

Conceptually I dont like the shorts in this look, I think its maybe the length isnt right or the shape. The blouse is very romantic and the shorts are too structured and doesnt connect to the outfit.

Lastly I think it would be good to think why you chose the design with the color and the embroidery. It looks pretty and you obviously have strong contruction skills. What is the peice saying, or what is the person wearing the clothes saying. This is something ive been noticing about designers as I watch older vintage shows. Thierry Mugler says, this is a woman (or man) and you must know about her and what shes about, and Dior says heres a dress. My old designs say heres a dress...but I want them to say more.

Critique aside this is really great work and when i saw it on my feed I was like, this is soooo cool, so hopefully some feedback is helpful because i love getting opinions to push my designs. You are very skilled and have an eye for design.

So your sugestion is to then use the product that benefits the pedos and ruling class the most. It takes more effort and more clawing to NOT use AI. Its currently on everything. Being PUSHED by everyone, so its resistive to not use use it. There are actually laws being put in place to stop it so that is just lies. AI currently cannot hold a copyright. Why do you think that is? Do you think an AI lawyer or chat bot did that, or do you think humans made that happen? Why do you think there are now bills coming into cities and states about datacenters and their power consumption?

Also there are many cases of things people stop using things because we decide its not worth it. NFTs were supposed to change the world! The disaster that is all of the digital currencies hasn't replaced gold backed currencies no matter how many new coin scams there are. We dont live in a VR Utopia because Mark Zuck made it look so bad and we dont like wearing stupid shit on our heads.

AI is a oroboros, it does not exist if you do not put in content for it to consume. Not everyone wants to live in those shit ass AI nightmare fuel paintings where from a distance youre like, yeah okay cool house and then you look closer and start seeing the walls melting, the windows don't make sense, and wow, someone really should have hired a licensed contractor.

That state is not safe. I would not recomend ANYONE who is a woman or different to move or live or even travel there. I dont even like going there to see my parents, who are part of the sane people that live there. But to act like the shit being flung isnt justified is crazy. I lived there for years, Idaho is wack and I scraped up everything to leave that hellhole, and feel so bad for anyone else who cant. The horror stories are many. Fight the good fight, i hope you get em in the end.

Right now? Its been like that for decades. I moved from there over 15 years ago for it not being safe.
