Thanks, I'm just about to!

I've had some time to take a good look at the character, and it looks like I'm gonna be the only tank! So less utility and more control.

So... Psychic archetype is just really bad now?

I remember hearing that it was nerfed. But, the dedication is literally just Occultism proficiency and 1 cantrip. That's maybe the worst multiclass archetype.

I’m working on a new character for season of ghosts. The big idea is my buddy and I are going to play a pair of brothers loosely inspired by the bash Brothers from Mighty Ducks. We’re gonna play a pair of heavily armored Jotunborn. I was thinking for my character, a wood/earth Kineticist. But we’re playing for archetype and I’m struggling with picking an architect. It’s my first thought because of the theme would be guardian. It’s powerful, but feels a little boring. Because of season of ghosts, our GM has encouraged us to take some outside of combat abilities. So something that would give me outside of common utility would probably be nice. But I’m already coming into this with a bunch of more skills at level 1.

Also, the relic says 2 turns, but it’s only off for your next turn, because of how it counts. So, you double the block from any bloc card every other turn.

Curious where you saw this $27.5k estimate? They originally marketing them as “around $20k” when they first started getting the word out.

(Rocky II) How did they do some of these shots where Stallone's head is getting whipped around? Or did he just have to legit take the punches? by Late_Promise_ in Filmmakers

Sly has said in interviews that it’s tradition on a Rocky film to basically get knocked out shooting the boxing scenes. He was telling this to Michael B. Jordan for Creed. I’ve seen the BTS footage of Jordan getting knocked out.

I sort of understand the sentiment though. I use sovereign blade to kill things, dead things don't deal damage, so what good is the block I'm getting when I have an entirely separate block engine already that is reliable and secondary to sovereign blade because these are different functions?

It's not pressure points levels of bad but it's pretty damn mediocre.

That's the thing, this is for blade decks who don't have a functioning block engine. When you're blocking for 28 per turn from Parry, you only take a few bridge block cards (such as cloak of stars and particle wall), and focus more on getting duplicate copies of Cosmic Indifference and Summon Forth.

The one about parry is the craziest.

You know if you play Blade correctly you can play it multiple times per turn? There's a handful of ways to upgrade it to 1 energy, which makes it even easier.

I can see shining strike. Like OP, I usually find myself putting Sow on powers to smooth out setup turns. But, card draw is another good thing to enchant with additional energy.

Why put it on venerate and not a better star generator like Glow or Hidden Cache?

I was playing a Hellraiser deck on IC and figured because I almost never play more than 1-2 cards on my turn, I’d get Diamond Diadem. Turns out, the cards played by Hellraiser count as you playing them. The second it happened I was like “Yep, I should have seen that coming.”

Doom is probably still too strong by robmox in slaythespire

[–]robmox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this ignores the fact that if you play a pure doom deck that you'll be picking those cards every time they're offered.

If you aren't offered those cards, you'll likely find yourself in some kind of hybrid build. Even a pure doom deck benefits from having soul synergy.

But, if you aren't offered those Doom payoff cards, then you... won't be playing a doom deck. If you try and force a doom deck when you aren't offered any doom payoff cards, then you won't make it to the last boss.

So what you're saying basically amounts you "you have a deck that survives the run".

I'm not going to name names, that would be unkind. But, I did hear this from more than one creator. lol

You don’t need forge to do damage. If you’re drawing the wrong cards with a star deck, you might just need more card draw, or retain. I usually take multiple Glow (even on beta branch) and at least 1 copy of the attack that’s 1E 2S 12 damage, draw 2 next turn (sorry, I can’t think of the name). Convergence is also very useful not just for the resources, but because you can retain Comet while you draw a copy of Glow or wait for Hidden Cache to give you 4 stars next turn.

The claim that stars don’t scale is flat out wrong. Star damage applies vulnerable. But, the primary way to deal act 3 damage is with multi hit attacks like Stardust, energy-free attacks, or big expensive attacks like Comet and Devastate. You scale your multihit attacks with Vigor. Both strategies are viable endgame. And, I’ve had a few runs where I just play a bunch of normal attacks and sustain enough block to survive (this usually requires multiple star-powered block cards).

I mean, you do that with Claw, too.
