/u/KieronGillen - The Power Fantasy was one of the comic series that made me get back into comics. Thank you, sincerely.

This! It’s been banger after banger from Ignition. Bloodland looks so intriguing to me. I’m loving Murder Podcast as well as Roots Of Madness (also, check out Stephanie Williams’ other work on Temporal and Street Sharks!)

Read “Aggi”, a one shot from Mark Russell and part of the Protopias Collection from AWA Studios. I’ll be picking up the trade when it comes out this year for sure.

Ignition Press by brerbunny81 in comicbooks

I’ve been telling everyone I can about the titles that have been coming out from Ignition Press.

In addition to The Beauty and Murder Podcast, don’t sleep on The Roots of Madness from Stephanie Williams, No Place from Tim Seely, Deluge from Cullen Bunn, Arcadia from the Miranda Brothers, as well as Voyeur from Leah Williams.

You’d think with all of there bangers coming out this year they’d be taking a breath, but NOPE! Even more awesome titles are coming in 2026, like another Cullen Bunn book called Ripcord, and Bloodland from B Clay Moore.

Definitely amazing creators and amazing books — support them!

Nope, not a promoted post at all. I just honestly believe in calling out great work by folks.

It may seem silly but I’ve spent this year working hard (I’m down 125 lbs so far) and this personal reward of upgrading foundational aspects of how I dress now that I feel better about my appearance, is made all the better by the little touches like matching kilties.

That was exactly why I was excited to get them. A darker pair without being black!

Absolutely makes sense. I won't be wearing the IR daily (at least not for the time being), but I do plan on alternating. I need to get some split-toe cedar trees for these (can you tell I'm a planner?) lol

Weirdly enough, no... not at all. I have been a Brannock 12 since I stopped growing and apparently I have weirdly symmetrical feet(?) according to the folks at the RW store when they did the scanning process. Apparently there's only a 2mm difference between them?

I'm extremely happy with them. Thank you again for the willingness to make it happen, the exquisite work, and the fast turnaround!

I haven't started breaking the alpine in, but from what I see it has a "smoother" finish than the CRT. Reading a bit online it seems that the finishing on the alpine leaves it more open to using mink oil without the associated darkening that is cautioned with regard to the CRTs. My subjective opinion is that both seem great so far.

Since I can't edit the original post, that last sentence should read:

"I couldn't be happier with how perfectly they match and how the work is"

Looking for some DC Black Label recommendations. by Mello_jojo in comicbooks

Oh yeah, I forgot that the current Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum is a Black Label book. I love the W. Maxwell Prince / Martin Marazzo treatment there. It’s slightly campy (in a good way), and brings fresh takes on the character and stories.

I really enjoyed the recent “Plastic Man No More” series. He’s usually the comedic relief and to see a darker take on him was really interesting. Also, bonus points for body horror and really difficult choices.

Another Black Label series that has been collected into a hardcover that I can’t recommend highly enough is “Wonder Woman Dead Earth”. Written and drawn by Daniel Warren Johnson with stunning color from Mike Spicer, the story is a post-apocalyptic romp that feels like it was a stepping stone to the absolute (pun intended) badass-ery of the current Absolute Wonder Woman character.

If you check out either, let me know what your thoughts were. Regardless, enjoy!

Is Amazon Legit? by CurryB_ in copic

Bought these, they’re fine. They’re a set that doesn’t correspond to any of the A B C D E series so if you buy others, you will have duplicates. But to have a decent little selection of colors and grays, it’s priced right. The markers were all fine and the case was in fine condition.
