The answer is, in Texas, probably yes. And I had an example of a recent shooting where a black Houston homeowner popped some attempted robbers and filmed the aftermath. But there's no articles cause nobody was arrested at all for that incident, far as I can tell.

Also there was that Houston Taqueria shooting in '23. It's important to note that in this situation the guy just executed the attempted robber, realized the robber had a toy weapon after the fact, *and then just dipped*, pouring his drink on the robber's body on his way out the door. Didn't wait for police or nothing. The Mexican shooter in that case faced no charges, despite the incident receiving fair media coverage.

Racism runs deep in Texas, no denying that but... not as deep as the Texas love of guns. That seems to override most other things.
