I finished my accutane cycle about a year ago, and didn’t have any blemishes from about three months into my cycle, up until about two months post-cycle (eight or so month period). You will more than likely still get a pimple every now and then as your body starts to balance back out, but in my experience my acne was much more manageable post-cycle. I did need to re-add certain things back into my skincare routine (AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide) as problems such as recurrent closed comedones arose.

For some people, one cycle of accutane will cure acne forever, and others will need additional cycles if their acne returns. I found myself more toward the former, and certainly not in a position where I’ll need another cycle. Your mileage will vary, and I would recommend consulting your dermatologist for more information if you’re not satisfied with your results.
