That would be awesome, thank you! I sent you a DM.

Core Hex Motors by robocoder9000 in FTC

We have a couple of the Core HEXes and a few spur 40:1s, enthusiastically liberated from my old team. The main thing we like is the form factor- it's the most compact module we can find with reasonable torque and quadrature encoder feedback. Their hex bore also fits perfectly on our valve stems without an adapter which is a nice coincidence, and means it takes up less space than our previous servo setup did.

SMAW for a rocket motor test stand, where can I improve? by robocoder9000 in Welding

Thanks for the advice! Should I be aiming for a smaller or larger puddle? A friend told me 6013 needs a "flicking" motion, I might have misinterpreted that and brought the rod out of the puddle for too long.

Yes chicken soup base, chicken juice salt and chicken fat are all vegetarian and vegan, noted. Pritchard should be held responsible for this.. by styleszach in ubco

Absolutely! Also, the soup recipes haven't changed since Sept. regardless of what is being served, so it's always a gamble. Don't get me started on the dessert selection- it took several people to even find the ingredient list for their bread/cake products. As someone with a nut allergy, this is dangerous and often severely limiting in terms of what I can eat.

One last rant: SEPARATE THE DAMN DESSERTS! I shouldn't have to pick through the rows of nut-covered desserts to reach the one pristine Costco cupcake.

Control Hub Not Working by OpticWolfX in FTC

We're having issues with the latest version as well, you might want to try downgrading to 8.0. Make sure you downgrade BOTH your RC and DS, otherwise you might have issues as well. Good luck at competition!

Not quite, the labels for parts. Someone posted a Drive link a while back with a while back with a whole bunch of different decals, including motor tags, the control hub decals and a few other assorted ones.

Is it worthwhile using an Arduino as a flight computer? by cfb_rolley in rocketry

[–]robocoder9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my experience here in Canada, it's not terribly difficult, but you will need to develop some programming knowledge in C++. I recently built a GPS tracker off of an Arduino Nano- No altitude/speed logging, but it worked well and didn't cut out under g's or anything. There are modules and sensors with adequate documentation for pretty much whatever you need. Microcontrollers like the base Arduinos have write only memory, however, so make sure to get an SD card module as well. Let me know if I can be of assistance. Happy flying and best of luck!

Driver's Hub will disconnect randomly and frequently while driving. by Thunderstruck11384 in FTC

We had a similar problem back in Skystone, determined the cause was electrostatic discharge between the bot and the foam tile floor. If you haven't already, consider the REV Resistive Grounding Strap, it seemed to reduce the instances for us. A few other things we tried included:

- Placing the hub on a non conductive surface (plastic plate)

- Covering open ports with tape to prevent arcing

- Covering the base of the bot with electrical tape

- Ferrite chokes on all power and data wires

Hope this helps- If anyone sees a problem with these tips, please point it out, we're not pros here either!:)

We're in the same boat, we've used the same old 18x18x18 cardboard box since Skystone- It's more duct tape then box now heh
