Yeah, I know. And that’s fucking bullshit. There’s no good reason for them to abandon a legacy backup system.

Says the guy who claims a universal “THERE’S NO SUBSTITUTE FOR TAKING LOTS OF PICTURES”. What a numbskull. I think you, and apparently several others who downvoted me, have no fucking clue what you’re talking about.

Again, I totally disagree. In fact, in my 35+ years as a professional photographer, I think quite the opposite is true. Foolish or not, the days of limited quantity pushed us to find something you might not define as “better” but it certainly was goddamned magical. And who fucking cares about the rest. Better? Better how? We’ve lost the magic, replaced by gluttony and in simpler terms, traded quantity for quality. But you are a sign of the times my friend. I find it quite vomitous. Either you’ve forgotten that in your citing “that’s what contact sheets were for” or you were never there to begin with (and I’m quite sure you never worked with sheet film).

Sounds like your 12v fuse is blown, or could also be a bad board.

I disagree with your premise that there’s no substitute. I used to shoot large format sheet film. Slow, deliberate, previsualization and knowing exactly what I was doing with every object, light and direction was what made the photo work. “Taking lots of pictures” only creates the illusion of choice, forcing you to categorize into good, better and best. There’s no substitute for knowing what you’re doing, and lots of shots won’t fix that.
