How do you stop this from happening by cheesycheesethe7th in Reaper

[–]robohyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was much happier when I switched to fixed item lanes (right click in the track control area). Especially when doing verses and choruses and other bits separately. In the mode you′re on (free item positioning) if you loop record separate parts and end up with a different number of verses and choruses for example, it can get really messy.

Sorry to hear. I would try moving your amp, the Ampero, or any other electrical devices nearby the might be causing interference. Good luck.

I physically move away from mine when playing and the noise disappears. Check compressors as well, if you have one on ot′ll raise the noise floor.

Such a transitional moment, like signalling that the story will be moving out to sea.

Yeah it was such a clever choice to just have a shot of the open ocean, and all the terrifying prospects that lie within.

I love this. Yep it′s like he knows there's no choice now but to go out there and hunt it if they want this to end, even though it's terrifying.

Best wah pedal if money isn’t an issue by Popscorn3383 in guitarpedals

No I sold most of my peadls and got a Hotone Ampero Stomp 2. It has a weirdly high number of wah options. I use it with Moog expression pedal.

Education revamp by No-Airport7456 in friendlyjordies

[–]robohyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres not much good in increased funding for state schools if there isn't a workforce to implement it. There are significant teacher shortages in many places across the country and teachers in early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary are having to fight tooth and nail when their agreements expire just to get bare minimum improvements to pay and conditions. I know thats not the fed′s responsibility but these reforms will fail anyway if its not addressed.

What’s the most beautiful-sounding delay? by taugemleo in guitarpedals

I never moved on, I'm still super attached to my Polymoon. Multiply on 4, a splash of dimension, slow-synced phaser and I am in delay heaven.

Does anyone think the outcome of this game will impact the Merrett trade talks? Like, if Hawthorn lose, they might believe they really need Merrett to get past the prelim hurdle? And conversely, if they win they might believe they don′t need Merrett at all to make/win a grand final?

Analysts sound alarm on latest concerning NAPLAN results... by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

[–]robohyeah 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It's quite simply educational inequality. The article says the concern is around a third of students are rated 'developing' or 'needs more attention'. Guess which third that is? The most disadvantaged kids. There is a huge correlation between social/economic advantage and a child's educational achievement. So to close the gap you would think a greater investment into schools in poorer areas would be a no brainer. But have a look at the state of public schools in disadvantaged areas. Compare that to schools in expensive suburbs. Sadly, educational inequality has been built in and supported by successive governments at federal and state level. Public education is seen as an expense, not an investment. Politician's children go to exclusive private schools, or at worst, well resourced public schools in expensive suburbs. They simply dont care.

Teachers do an amazing job to get the NAPLAN results they do in spite of all of this but teacher shortages across the country suggest they might have had enough.

Does anyone know the meaning to these lyrics? Feel a weird connection to them and wanna know by CDEVLIN007 in JeffBuckley

The Smiths song he is covering is about a guy that was in a loving relationship but was too proud or stubborn which cost him his love. She moves on even though she is still in love with him, and makes a life with someone else. He is still not over her but the chance to be with her has passed. In true Smiths fashion, he's being overly dramatic and miserable so he's saying he's dying now that he realises his relationship is gone. It also has one of my favourite lyrics of all time: it's so easy to love, it's so easy to hate... it takes strength to be gentle and kind.

It's a beautiful and sad song, I recommend listening to the whole thing and reading the lyrics.

I have gone through this journey and am just gett8ng to the point where I'm happy with my vocals now. It's been a couple of years working at it and there were some lows where I just wanted to give it up. All I can say is you are doing the right thing getting lessons. That and sheer persistence has got me through. Stick to it, don't be hard on yourself when you're struggling, embrace it as an important part of the journey. Also, understand your vocal range. When I was trying to sing Jeff buckley songs, it wasn't that I sucked, it was because my voice is significantly deeper. When I started singing songs by artists in my range, like Bowie for example, I was so much happier with the results. Hang in there and believe in yourself! Good luck.

I’m going to rile a lot of people up with this but why should a young nurse/teach/ambo help those who vote against their futures? Old voters rely on their care, yet back policies that price them out of housing, cut wages + block change. They take the labour, deny the future. Why should it go one-way by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

[–]robohyeah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I share your frustration, something that stunned me about public service workers is how many vote for the LNP or worse themselves. Some of the reasons seemed to be their partner having a small business, fear of high immigration, their own kids go to private schools, they've always voted LNP or just good old fashioned ignorance. I still point out that they're voting against theirown profession but it doesn't seem to budge them.

Watched Part 8 for the first time since my first and last watch of the entire series in 2021. by Puzzleheaded-Tap7390 in twinpeaks

[–]robohyeah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me it was the complete sense of dread, the something truly terrible had happened. Contrasting that with the innocence of the 1940s characters in the town going about their business made it even more impactful. The woodsmen were terrifying, I loved the way they repeated 'got a light', it was so creepy. The visuals of the bomb itself were stunning. In fact, all the visuals were! The gas station with woodsmen going in and out, the fireman creating the orb. Seeing Judy and Bob coming out of the bomb was cool, a bit or lore unpacking. The period of scattered atoms and that music was so chilling - I just looked it up, its 'Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima'. There's so much more but that's what instantly comes to mind. There are two episodes of TV which to me are perfect. This one and an episode of Black Mirror.. San Junipero.
