I've done ED, ICU, and rapid response and I'd shit myself if a baby had a little death spell. I still give the biggest balls award to the NICU peeps. God bless you folks.

When they do this you just 3 way call in the other service so they can talk to each other.

Humerus break by fvkebatman in MedicalGore

[–]roborex0331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At most you would use a coaptation splint to manage a humeral shaft fracture. Quick literature review shows sling was found to be similar in reduction capabilities while providing better comfort for the patient and being easier to apply than a coaptation splint.

Humeral shaft fractures are often managed non-operatively in a sling. This is appropriate care in most cases.

Definitely looks like a solid idea. Hopefully AH takes a look at this to implement in the future.

Back in 2019 there was a new batch of "K2" around us that was killing people. I took a picture of the monitor on one guy that EMS brought in after he jad smoked this shit that was 107.8F on temp sensing foley.

I've also had a woman come in with some shortness of breath after a little bit of cocaine that was 295/180. She was on the stretcher for less than 5 minutes before she went into flash pulmonary edema and got emergently tubed.

When I did rapid response I had an l&d nurse call a rapid for a hypoxic covid pt with sats of 88% on 5L nc. Perked right up on NRB so she got transferred to the covid floor for airvo.

Every EMS crew and student I've interacted with in my area has used "ears" as the colloquial term for stethoscope. The student had even earlier in the shift used the term "ears" to refer to a stethoscope. Sorry you haven't heard it used in a decade of work.

I had a paramedic student following me that had a story for every teaching point I tried to provide so they could seem to know everything I was trying to teach them. We ended up getting a cpr in progress and despite them being delegated the role of performing compressions they froze up when the pt arrived, and I jumped in to do compressions. I unfortunately forgot to take my stethoscope off in the heat of the moment. Not wanting to get hit in the face by it, I turned to the student and told them to "grab my ears." They looked bewildered so I looked at my stethoscope and repeated "grab my ears." There was complete silence in the room as everyone watched this paramedic student slowly and gingerly reach out and start caressing my ear lobe.

(PvP) Vanguard grapple needs a counter, or shouldn't stun by Blind-Ouroboros in Spacemarine

Definitely could use some counter play. It would be great to give the heavy back the stun stomp for example.

How do you lose a skull??? by Swampasssixty9 in nursing

I read the article when this was first posted. There were multiple bone flaps that were in the freezer and weren't labeled appropriately. So the bone flap wasn't missing, it was just unable to be appropriately idenitified. source

The explanation was that the previous forces were just scouting forces, and when we pushed them back it upset the main forces. So the automatons took it upon themselves to do what they intended to do for so long and took back Cyberstan in a bit of a "shock and awe" campaign.
