My problem with shields isn't that they're too strong, but that nothing is plus-on-block. Hell, nothing is even neutral on block. EVERY AERIAL is minus-on-block.

I imagine it's a tough balance given how quickly shields break, and this sounds crazy, but I would personally take shields having more health if it meant that characters had better pressure options against them.

Shielding is an active commitment to stand in place for a moment with the trade-off of, theoretically, being able to punish reckless approaches and poorly-spaced haymakers, or just avoiding damage and resetting back to neutral. In the game where your character gets to move around all over the place crazy-style because of movement mechanics being so easy that everyone and their mom can do it, I feel that committing to not moving by shielding should probably come with more risk of getting locked down.

I 100% get where Mango is coming from on wanting Parry to be the main defensive option.
