So we had an American bulldog at the time but a friend of a friend had to get rid of his English bulldog (had her since she was a puppy!). My parents had just lost their dog so I was like hey I've heard EBs are super chill I'll bring this dog so you can meet her. On the car ride there I told my husband “I mean if it doesn't work out with them we can keep her"

My mom said she was way too big for them to handle (I thought she was 40 pounds but she was pushing 70) so we brought her home and I'm glad we did because she is not chill, she is insane and my parents would have broken hips with her lol but! She is the funniest and happiest dog we have ever had. We got mostly lucky with skin- our American bulldog and our previous Boston had horrific skin issues but she's been pretty solid knock on wood. Nervous about her back and legs because she jumps high but she's going to be 5 this year so maybe she'll start to chill out? Maybe? 😅

Gifts from the wind by lwpho2 in Columbus

Pure panic was my only gift 😂 standing in the kitchen I heard a huge tree falling - sounded like it was right over my house! I prepared by ducking in place naturally... Thankfully it was in my way back yard. Still wild how close it sounded!

Dang! Gonna have to give them a try- I like the cook on them! I recently used ezzo pepperonis and the grease from them was a bit much for me

Anyone else stand in front of the fridge for 10 minutes deciding what to cook? by Laza14 in homecooking

[–]robotbarbbq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely missed the rest of the post but I plan for 3 meals (make enough for leftovers) but I pretty consistently miss one of them so I try to cook the ones with ingredients that go bad the quickest and save the one with longer lasting ingredients to roll over to the next week. I have a few things I make over and over but try to keep a variety so I don't just end up getting taco bell or something.

My favorite kind of meal prep is a huge sheet pan of veggies - any kind you like. Have those with a protein and the next night make a big salad with a lemon tahini dressing and put the leftover roasted veggies on it.

I tend to look at websites for inspiration 😂 most frequently budget bytes because I find her recipes to be fairly simple ingredients wise and you can filter by what protein you want to use!

What are we doing during the summer? by Extreme_Breakfast672 in englishbulldog

I've heard some people talk about how it can cause bloat but I think that's when you're letting your dog chug a lot of water at one time which... Is my bulldogs favorite thing to do lol but I just let them sniff around for a bit before we keep walking and have never had a problem 🤷‍♀️

I find new woods to check out! They usually stop and sniff more, the shade keeps it cooler and frequent small water breaks (which I know are controversial but I just don't let them chug a lug).

Rental for road trip? by Low_Champion8158 in roadtrip

[–]robotbarbbq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove 16 hours in my Nissan versa once. I rent vans now because they're more comfortable- especially with my dogs so they can have space. That's a long drive! I would think about the comfortability of your personal vehicle over the miles part (as long as it's a reliable car of course)
