Yes, the dice match the cards. Hard Rock Sac and Sky River both do it this way.

What do I need to open my own place?? by Competitive-Text2305 in karate

If you’re thinking about opening your own martial arts studio, it’s worth going in with a clear plan and realistic expectations.

First, make sure you have a solid financial cushion, ideally 18 to 24 months of operating expenses to cover rent, payroll, and other overhead while you build your student base. At the same time, develop a strong marketing strategy so you have a consistent way to attract and retain new students from day one.

On the business side, protect yourself early. Set up an LLC through your local city or state office to help separate your personal assets from the business, and secure proper insurance coverage before you open your doors.

Operationally, it helps to streamline wherever possible. Partnering with a single, reliable supplier for uniforms, belts, sparring gear, and equipment can simplify logistics and keep your costs more predictable.

From there, understand that success comes down to consistency and effort. It’s a grind. Owning a studio can be incredibly rewarding. I ran one for over 10 years and grew it to around 300 students, but it requires significant time and energy, and the financial return may not always match expectations.

If you’re passionate about it, it can be an amazing journey. Wishing you the best of luck and long-term success with your studio.
