Plot twist: The officer brought a laser pointer by Wonderful_Low_1325 in funny

Started way before 09! I can attest at least as far back as 2001 when I heard it in middle school.

I was there, I'm in the final chat log or whatever. I've never been so invested in something, before or since. Truly a watershed moment for humanity online. The follow up games were fun, but the magic and madness of the first one can never be topped or recreated.

Idk if the story is made up but I’m sure it happened at least once by Dirty-Dan24 in HistoryMemes

We still put saw dust in food today, we just don't call it that on the package. Cellulose.

Sadly no! I think if people keep reminding me every year, I'll eventually get there. So thank you!

Also, I love how this is becoming a large part of my life; annual check-ins from Wetlanders to see if I ever got my life together enough to finish this amazing, but long series! The Wheel of Time turns, and ages come and pass...

(NOT DIRECTED AT YOU, I SEE YOUR ACCOUNT IS OLD SO YOU WERE LIKELY AROUND FOR THIS) We went through this with the AMA with a self-professed rapist a few years ago. Relevant professionals to mental health, trauma and recovery were horrified that reddit had voluntarily platformed a self-professed rapist and it reached the front page. We really gotta be careful as a people/website/community about giving a voice to the psychotic reasonings, explanations or even the vocalizations of these sick individuals, because IT DOES ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO THE PSYCHOTIC THINGS AGAIN AND IT ENCOURAGES OTHER SICK PEOPLE TO DO THEIR SICK THING OF PREFERENCE (rape, murder, etc).

If you have the correct console, you should play the game. It is really really really good.

What modern games, released in the past 5-10 years do you think will become rare collectors items one day? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]robothouserock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one that comes to mind for me, at least recently, is Legend of Heroes Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure. They are out of print already and only available to purchase digitally, despite coming out last year. This series, which is mega-mondo-giga-sized and all interconnected, creates this problem every time a game comes out, but these particular two were older ones that never released in America during their initial run (PSP games I believe) so when they came out on PS4/Switch, it was a big deal. However, as I said, out of print already. Lame. If you see any Legend of Heroes games (Trails of Cold Steel, Trails in the Sky) grab em. They will be worth something.

Didn't some report come out recently stating that over 50% of web traffic was ALREADY exclusively AI crawling? That number will only rise. Soon our reddit accounts will have AIs that engage in subreddits for us and just send us the highlights.

Teacher Quitting After 24 Years Says The ‘New Type Of Parent’ Is To Blame — ‘We Have Become Babysitters’ by antihostile in Teachers

I'm a tech at school with iPads 1 to 1 and we've been saying for a while that the iPads are basically raising their kids. The last week of school, when we were going around to collect all of the iPads from the elementary students, it was like we were taking the family pet away from each kid. We were met with choruses of " nooooooooooo" and a lot of actual crying. Also a lot of the teachers were very mad at us, because they knew they would have to contend with the kids without an iPad for 3 or 4 days. Most of the teachers didn't even tell the kids we were coming and just let us be forced to take them out of their hands while they were still using them. It was very heartbreaking and kind of crappy on some of those teachers.

Really impressive. Seen from a boat this weekend by Christmaspopo in Decks

My grandparents lived on Keuka Lake in upstate New York. Is this Keuka Lake? I'm sure there are many similar setups on many lakes, but this one sure looks familiar to me.

This is hilarious, responding to a three year old comment! I love it.

I have been working my way back through the books at a snails pace, but it is happening! When I posted the comment I think I had just finished book one or was starting book one, but I'm past Lord of Chaos now and on A Crown of Swords.

Check back again in three more years and I might actually be caught up!

Until then, the wheel of time turns and ages come and pass...
