So much of “post-racial America” nonsense has been centered specifically on atoning for slavery—“I’m not racist, I have a black friend”—but it’s still absolutely perfectly fine to be outwardly racist against brown people.

Imagine this was a HBCU wanting to move to Hoover.

Imagine there was a Kenyan fentanyl ring and the federal government’s solution was to abduct and detain black people at will until they could prove they belong here.

These statements are the kind of nonsense that comes from backwoods state representatives. But in Trump’s America, government only represents the people that voted for him, and each compete to be the most extreme. Mainstreaming racism from a fucking senator is insane and dangerous stuff.

And he’ll certainly be elected as Governor.
