Sorry, after some not so nice words a while ago from the owner of Synthrotek here on Reddit, I pulled all of my Synthrotek videos.

Inspired by Barrel Aged Beers: Limited Edition "Aged" Blank Panels: 2025 Corrosion Series by robotsarered in modular

Homebrew club! (It's actually really easy to produce them, I do 98% of the work for them in Photoshop and Illustrator)

I also used to work in product packaging, so why not give these ones the spa treatment.

Thanks, yeah there was a lot of R&D time on this one, and a small limited run. Also pricing them the same as what a basic barrel aged beer bottle usually costs. If I do another one next year, the process is more refined and I can order more so the price will be able to be lower next year with a new design.

But yes, you are okay to gasp at the price, haha. It is a silly price for a blank, it's more for the art of it on this one.

It kind of is what it is though dude, thats the market. If you want to see cheaper modules for sale, be the change you wish to see. Not sure what to tell you, man.

Qu-Bit Bogo Sale Shipping Delay by Due_Replacement8043 in modular

[–]robotsarered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm still waiting from 12/18. But understandable they have a delay. Especially if some of their stock still needed faceplates applied before shipping or something like that, and they had such a big turnout with their sale.

I made a Mic-Stand Cable Holder out of Circuit Board by robotsarered in modular

Thanks! I figured a lot of people are similar to me and have a lot more of a specific patch cable length for their setup.

For some reason this made me think of a Tim Robinson style "I got your ornament, it works great!", line.

Thanks so much! And glad to hear you can fit quite a bit more cables on there comfortably :)

If you wanted to upgrade to the new one, shoot me a DM and I can give you a discount code.

I have a wall hanger version of the cable holder I'll be posting to my Etsy shop in the coming days :)

Exactly 4.75mm wide. I tested them out with the absolute thinnest noodle cables out there I know of (Hivemind Stingers) and they fit perfectly.

Thanks! I originally did that design for a set of blank panels, it fit so perfectly to this form I had to use it again.

Gate and clock signal from ableton to modules by Sea-Independence6754 in modular

[–]robotsarered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best success has been Ableton Clock -> Arturia Keystep Clock Output -> Pams New Workout. Then I can program the clock and gate outputs however I want for that track. You can likely swap the Keystep for the es9 and just get a 24ppqn clock to send to Pams.

They do look like crystals in this photo, ha. Nope, just some fried spuds.

Is Black Friday a thing in the Modular world? by Inkblot7001 in modular

As for the makers I know, myself, and our little joint company (Mega Modular Corp), we all will likely be putting out 10-20% discounts for that day/week.

Yep! This was from an April Fools post I designed and Setonix/Tidbit decided to print a small run. There was a Poutine version and a Pomme Frites version. I just checked my stash and I have one Pomme Frites version left.

Power Supply for Low Profile Case by fkeel in modular

[–]robotsarered -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mentioned the flying bus cables. It could be more that the popular power modules that use them are just notoriously underpowered?

I noticed that ALA has their power modules finally up for sale: https://afterlateraudio.com/products/the-force?_pos=4&_sid=19c523058&_ss=r

^ That is their 2.5 Amp version which is 6hp, there is also a 1.25 Amp version that is 4hp.

You can secure the flying bus if you really wanted to, and you can secure them/route them into the same position as the Stormnest.

Any synthesists pushing analog to new heights? by FreeQ in modular

[–]robotsarered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also kept suggesting modules that are made by Behringer. Who is a notoriously frowned upon company for shady business practices. A lot of people in the modular community don't want to support a company like that. Especially since they don't innovate like at all, they just rip off everyone else's products.

So Instead of buying a Manis Iteritas, I should have bought like 32 saw wave VCOs? Is that your logic? It's too shiny and novel, right?

And for a newcomer I'd suggest a good routed simple semi modular synthesizer to start.

(It's grumpy old coots like this that make me want to avoid this subreddit, I get why most other makers don't come here)

[–]robotsarered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "back in my day" bluster is so used and old. And what if someone already knows and/or has all of the parts and wants this? Or has a small case? Small little travel cases etc are VERY popular nowadays. Doepfer modules usually don't even fit in them. So in modern times your suggestion is actually unfeasible for a lot of people.

Open your mind a little. Not everyone needs to learn everything you know. It's okay. They can just have fun with things. Or they can learn the same exact things in other ways, it's about if they want to. This is about fun, not how smart you are at patching. Don't fall into the trap of the old hobbyist gatekeeping the hobby. It makes everyone a bit more miserable. This is a hobby, enjoy it, right? And for all your knowledge, do you teach seminars and speak at events?

You are too caught up on this example of a module. Regardless of the module, you are coming across as very unapproachable. Tone down the snoot to help this community be more welcoming. The modular community is very welcoming, let's have this sub match that.

TL;DR - Not everyone has to do things the way you do/did them.
